When I first started making cards I bought these Spellbinders kits. I used all the sentiments at the time. However, over time, I find that I didn’t find an occasion to give those cards to people. So I now really focus on only the sentiments that I know I will use.
Great video! I love how you described your thoughts process in creating these cards. We all can get bogged down in our own creativity processes where we are not creating nothing. I like how you just let yourself cut up the paper and mat it, then coming back later to see how it might work. I have so many kits I need to work through that I've bought thru various clubs. I recently started separating them and filing the embellishments & ephemera by color. I've also canceled my memberships in stamp & card kit clubs. I have enough paper to last 50 years. What I don't have is enough time in the day to make cards to use it all up. So I'm trying not to buy any more pattern paper for a while. Your cards turned out fantastic and I'm happy you were able to work thru that kit!
Love this video and seeing you just go for it! A trick with a word like FUN with separate letters is to cut out the backing with the word, peel half the backing off the bottom (or top) of the letters, and cut it away. Then line up the bottom or top of all the letters and stick half of them down. Then lift the backing off the top (or bottom) and stick the rest down. Hope that makes sense.

I donate a lot of leftover/non-card sentiments to a teacher friend who also shares them with Girl Scouts. If I know someone who scrapbooks, then I'll send them there. I find that keeping too many scraps stresses me out--I feel compelled to use them up before I start a new paper pad and then I sputter to a halt. I recently found a person who LOVES creating with scraps, so I send a box every so often. It's a win-win!
When I first started making cards, I subscribed to the Spellbinders and Simon Says Stamp kits. Over time I found my card making “style” and moved away from SB kits. I do still enjoy making cards similar to yours and the Sheetload of Cards, but I don’t make them as often. I have a box that I am putting items in from the SB kits that I know I will not use and I will be donating them to the assisted living facility where my mom lives. They are looking forward to receiving them for crafting activities.
I bought a few kits because they are excellent price point. I find them challenging to use but when I get into it I can feel myself learning lots of techniques.
Hi, your cards are very cute. I feel like that folding chair could have been put on the card that said "fresh air". That would be fun for a card in the spring.
sunshine and fresh air. it's hard to let go.I try to donate sets of stickers and kits I won't use to local schools. Sometimes I use pieces to make clusters of ephemera. I'm glad you shared that this was a project over weeks. It's a great reminder that no one is making 100 cards in a weekend. or at least no regular person. Haha!
I would appreciate if the measurements are available without a membership at Patreon. Or at least a close up at the finished cards. Without this I can't use this video for my own cardmaking as inspiration.

But for example with sticker sheets, the ones I don't use, I put together on one sticker sheet, and for now, keep them in my stash. I never use the strange sentiments or stickers that come on those packs. That stuff is supposed to be used for scrapbooking. I don't know anyone that does scrapbooking anymore. They make sense then, but these companies usually shrink down the size of pads/sentiments and try to sell them to card makers. I've tossed all those strange things that make no sense on a card.

I make 4.5 x 6 in cards
I almost never use ephemera I just don't like it for some reason
