Excellent video. My dads Sprinter showed two plugs with an error on an OBD. So we’ll just change all the plugs out while we’re there. Over 372k on the odometer!
Thank you much for the video! I appreciate the information. I'm in Texas where it is still pretty hot so I really don't understand why my glow plug dash light is on. The auto mechanic can't look at it until next week. The van is running great as usual but I'm refraining from driving it until I can get it repaired. Thanks again for the video.
@@madetoexplore it's even easy... I guess mine were not too rusted either :D I do have a broken bolt on the injectors... that's giving me the creeps, but I keep checking it..
Really appreciate your post . I think there is a lot of good advice and tips in it . I am getting ready to replace all 5 in a 2002 2500 sprinter at 100,000 miles . Man , it looks like the back ones are going to be hard to get at . Also , I have heard that replacing these CAN go horribly wrong as far as breaking them off and that Mechanics price this in to charging $ for replacing. Thanks : )
Hi phillip. If you don't mind me asking, what is a reasonable price for this job. I have to get this done on my van and I would like to be as informed as possible so I don't get ripped off. Its bad enough being a woman but being an ignorant woman is even worse.
10mm deep socket. It’s best to use a torque wrench set to 25-30 NM. You don’t want to apply more pressure when trying to loosen them because you could break them off.
Should soak the dirt around the plugs with an cleaner/degreaser and blow them clean with a compressor so you don't pollute your engine once you remove the glow plug
How`s your campervan conversion going? We`d love to hear from you!👇😃
Well done you, I am way to paranoid to even try to replace mine
Nicely done! Good job and great editing!
Thank you! Your videos have been immensely helpful for me as well!
@@madetoexplore Yes indeed! :D

Great video, thanks! Anybody know if glow plug access is same easiness on the 2008 3.0L V6?
Great video, thanks for posting
Welcome Ryan! Thanks for watching
I very much enjoyed your very informative straight forward video I look forward to seeing more thank you.
Thanks! :D I though it was going to be far more complicated, but I got all 5 changed in less than 2 hours :D very well explained!
Welcome! Yeah it’s a pretty smooth job when they don’t get stuck

Thank you! It can but hopefully not for you 😄
Thanks for this! Paid a guy way too much do this before I knew better. Never going to him again & trying to do what I can myself.
Let us know how it goes! Thanks for watching☺️

@@debbyrene I would suggest calling 2-3, well reviewed, mechanic shops and asking for a quote. It’s a fairly easy job so I would guess about $300-400
@@madetoexplore that is great advice and I'm going to do exactly that. I sincerely appreciate it.
Bro your explain very very good 👍

I don’t recall my glow plugs being that dirty but yes that’s a great idea if you have a compressor handy!
Τhanks for the tips. I would have liked to see you actually removing the glow plugs.
Welcome! It’s tricky to do while recording haha
Thanks dooooood!
