My Samurai is the same as yours,a 1.3 and since I' ve had it ,it always runs cold.I've done over 10,000kms The needle never rises above cold AND I live in southern Spain where in summer we regularly have over 40 degrees C and it never overheats.
Right. It really worried me in the beginning but I changed the thermostat and keep an eye on it all the time. No issues so I guess they just run cool. Hey thanks for watching!

I was still kinda learning how to edit and stuff, but I think you'll find lots of helpful info as I've been through just about every part of this thing lol. for your leaking front axles, your inner seals are probably allowing gear oil from the diff to get into your hubs and turning the grease into liquid and leaking out. Just buy an OEM seal and bearing kit and rebuild the front end. it will steer and handle way better after you do that. I use Right Stuff rtv to seal up pretty much everything on the engine, your distributor housing O ring is probably leaking and more than likely your oil pan too... just clean them up and black RTV them, no gaskets.
I ordered the knuckle seals and felt. I thought that's what was leaking but it sounds like it might be deeper than that from what you're saying. I'll prob dig into that next week sometime when the seals show up, I'm trying to do a video a day. Thanks for the heads up!
@@FixLife119 look at Roadless Gear, Zuks OffRoad, Zuks of Hazard, or Suzuki Samurai of America and buy a complete rebuild kit. You’ll be money ahead just rebuilding the front end. If you pull your hubs and the grease looks like gear oil, then your inner seals are smoked and new felts and rubbers won’t do anything.
@@FixLife119 That knuckle seal felt is keep dirt out wipes it off steer but u knew that. Mines ,88 square dash 235/75/15 muds new. Put Toyota carb on mine what give for it. Hell yeah there cool. Yeah door mostly broke all .I took screws out tape screws back in lights and stuff about all of um stuff on yours half stuff on mine to same tai light lol funny as hell. . I love mine.good luck
that big seal at the back of the ball isn't the problem, its the inner axle seal that is leaking (differential oil) just change everything if you haven't done so already. both kingpin bearings the rear swivel hub seal(big ball seal) and the inner axle seals also yes Japanese disk brakes are cast iron

After reading those comments I decided if there was gear oil I was gonna just buy the whole rebuild kit but when I changed them it was just grease. Haven't had any issues since I did the knuckle seals. It's in one of the videos. I had never seen cast iron rotors until this thing. Thanks for the comment
When the front axle ball joint is greasy/oily it’s time to replace both king pin bearings. The bearings are standard and cheap as long as it doesn’t say Suzuki on the box.
I replaced the knuckle seals recently. I was expecting to find gear oil and then I was gonna buy the whole kit with bearings and seals. Only found grease so I think the other seals are doing their job. I followed the manual and it has you cut the seals at the top. Not my favorite but I'll prob do the whole kit at some point.
I was going to do that the second day I had it but after I saw the prices I ordered a new combination switch (that's what the turn signal/headlight and wiper lever combo deal is called). This way the white lettering will be new and the feel will be great. Got it working good enough to drive at night if I need to in the mean time though. Trying to put out a video a day on the old girl. Honestly got it to flip but it's really growing on me. I don't know what it is but it's really fun lol.
Just not but a few short years ago that would have been a $1000.00 rig. Sad what we will pay for a Suzuki these days. I just picked up an 89 Sidekick for $4800.00. I love the Samurai but not the manual trans. By the way bake rotors and drums are cast iron.
Thanks, it looked cast iron, but I didn't even know that was a thing. Yeah it's amazing what some of these things go for. I am having an absolute blast working on this thing. Today was probably the best day so far. In like 4 hours I changed out the window regulators, all the seals, handles, cranks etc on both sides (tomorrow's video, I've been doing a video a day). Seals came with no instructions, never watched a video, but everything is so easy and intuitive, I do see why people love these things. I didn't know a thing about Samurai's when I bought it, but so many people in the comments know every nut and bolt on these things. Is the Sidekick pretty similar to the Samurai? Might be able to pull that stalk off and clean up the contacts. They might just be oxidized / Dusty in there

The “lid” of the manual hubs are aluminum not plastic.
the price is too high, stop buying it, and maybe it will come down
