My suggestion, attend your county party meetings, participate in district and state conventions, and run to be national delegate and presidential electors. Locally, run for city council, county clerk/court clerk, commissioner, or school board positions. Your local elections directly impact your quality of life more than state or federal elections do.

From my experience in state politics, you have to be selected to be elected. Even the losers are selected. I live in a Red state. Both parties operate like this.

How can you be a Democrat, Mr. Giesick? I wouldn’t vote for you on that basis alone.

I second this. The values and tenets of the Democratic Party are completely antithetical to Catholicism. ~ Lisa

Running as a republican in the state of Washington is a waste of time and money.

@MrMystikmyk: Regardless of which party Mr 28:49 runs, it isn’t a waste of time and/or money. And whether he wins of loses, He is putting his Faith out to proclaim in the public square. And that matters. It’s something we ALL need to do-in this time of history-regardless of the consequences. Paul’s USMC background as a earthly warrior, coupled with a clear Catholic message-is a spiritual warrior! And the zeal as a re-vert! Have you heard the term “being a fool for Christ?” Obviously I’m not saying this man is an actual fool. Paul is willing to represent our Faith, regardless of “how it looks” and “what people think of him” He is willing to shake all that off to do what he feels/thinks what GOD wants each of us to do in this turbulent. Evil world. It really doesn’t matter what you think, or even me. It seems to me that Paul is following his conscience, maybe by the Holy Spirit, the inspiration of Jesus/Mary/St Joseph or something else. That’s a win-regardless of the result. It’s about doing God’s Will-not our own. I’ll be praying for you Paul. I live in MA- if geographically nearer, I’d campaign for you-despite being 73 yrs old.
God bless you and your family always and forever.

@@teresak8530 If you’re referring to Party affiliation. I’m a Republican- for some time
I think we need good people on both sides of the aisle There has been/continues to be a sizable percentage of RINO’S Just look at the recent House vote on FISA renewal. Are you kidding me? Trump’s “ Russian hoax” and his legitimate authority to keep papers after leaving office were a direct result of FBI/DOJ overreach., and they wouldn’t have had it w/out the FISA LAW. There is corruption on both sides-look at the #’s-they still passed it-only concession was 4yr approval reduced to 2yrs
It’s complicated-but I have to weigh and measure-look at/listen to/read positions on the man-we need good men and women working collectively across the aisle to see this country back together, don’t you think?
He definitely will have to re-consider his abortion stance-though I believe there is a Democrats for Life group ? Could he join forces w/in the Party to change its’ current position? I don’t know, but I believe that “if God bring us to it, He will bring us through it”

Mr Giesick, you have some good ideas, but it's hard for me to believe that you believe them by your constant use of the qualifier, probably. When you say something definitely - probably - should be changed, you demolish your own argument. Perhaps if you learn to speak definitively you would be a more effective candidate. Also, it's puzzling that you align yourself with the Democratic Party. Why? ~ Lisa

One have to do a few years of Cathequism and practice before public action and speech... I mean...There are more things aside using some Catholic words here and there... Gratia non tollit naturam, sed perficit.
