Mark Childress is always being asked why he doesn't leave Carrie's band. He said he has two good reasons for not leaving. One, he is good friends with Carrie and two, Carrie knows she trust Mark will get things done on tour. He is band director and also in charge of the arena areas in each city. Carrie shows him want she wants and he gets it done. Plus he make sure that her oldest son is okay, when she goes into the arena. I think Mark acts like a uncle to her eldest son.

She is definitely one of my favorite singers and most of the time she is able to present CD quality on her gigs, but in this case she is out of tune. doesn't matter, she is "just" a human being :)))
Yes, I have watched so many of her live shows, and this is the only time I've ever heard her go off key. I used to sing and it happened to me once due to audio issues. I think it was something like that.
well, I've heard her more times, especially when she sings "blown away" but it is absolutely acceptable. She is good anyway.

She sounds different live
well, she is singing it at a slightly different tempo/lilt. she is cutting off different than she does in say the official video. she is also moving around a lot more than she probably does in the recording studio which makes her voice a little "shaky"...out of breath.

The whole band is off key that is why she is off key. She is singing in tune with that band of hers. She has to do that so the band doesn't doesn't mess up anything.
