Opal interjecting her famous culinary recipe was random, yet humorous.
I totally agree! They certainly lost this viewer when they wrote Dimitri off permanently.
There's a great scene in fall 2006 where Erica has a drink with Jeff and explains why she left. She's used to living alone and focusing on herself and her career, and Jack has a house full of teenagers and loves the domesticity and the chaos of family life. She feels like she's drowning and she doesn't know who Erica Kane is anymore. Jack wants a normal mundane life, and Erica doesn't. Their values were so far apart and not consistent with a happy marriage.. yet they kept getting back together.
Thank you so much for this clip. That's the part I was looking for. I had never seen this before.
I never liked Erica with Jack either and not just because I adored Dimi. Just like Dimitri told him once..."you're as two dimensional as the cardboard they put in my shirt at the drycleaner" LOL This is even better then a slap in the face.
Unfortunately, the chances for a Dimitri and Erica final reunion became non existant when Michael wrote himself off. Sad.
@unicojodi EXACTLY! Jack/Erica got so damn old, I'm glad he finally walked out on her in the final episode. AMC went down hill when MN left. Then it all sucked how John Callahan was killed off and many other stupid story lines. It would've been nice to have Dimi and Erica married by the end of the show, or something like that.
I agree with you. AMC started to go horrible for me around 1997 (yes that early). I didn't like that baby Maddie kidnapping story line at all. After that, it was all forgetable history. But these clips from early to mid 1990's were joyous! In my opinion 1993, 1994 was the best years (95" a close second).
@@auntiechercher4266 I thought the year 2000 was probably the last good year for AMC. But yeah, the years you mentioned were definitely the peak of 90’s AMC. Then the show just got annoying and ridiculous. They turned it into almost a teenybopper show mixed with a few OG characters. I just watched it out of habit, and back then there wasn’t any streaming services like now. Same with wrestling, it was great in the 80s & 90s but got boring in the mid 2000s onwards. I only watch old WWE episodes on the Peacock APP, and old AMC episodes on here (hopefully the rest of the episodes don’t get deleted).
@@OfficialGrizzly Hello friend - yes, I see what you mean. You know, it is funny because back in early and mid 1990's I got into watching the soaps again and was really enjoying. I think AMC was top notch and they deserved the Emmy for best show in 1994 (although why Susan was not nominated that year was beyond me because that really was her best work). I remember thinking after it all went downhill that we never would have thought that it would have happened . . . the quality of all soaps, etc. I did understand that part of it came from the lack of funding from advertisements because of the emergence of the internet. But it seemed all the soaps (GH, OLTL especially) had terrible story lines. So I think the writing was lacking across for board for some reason. Still don't understand it all.
I would also like to see the episode where Dimitri and Jack fight. I don't think I ever saw that episode.
I tend to think they would have reconciled eventually. Erica really idealized their relationship when she thought he'd died, and she wanted to be with him when he came back. I have often wondered what would have been if MN hadn't had a drug problem. I have my own theories as to why Alex and Dimitri left abruptly like they did, and I had some ideas for how he could be brought back to Pine Valley, but sadly I don't think ABC wanted him back.
RIP Dmitri is too nice To Miss Erica she does not deserve him she is too cold and selfish
I love these clips. Do you have more clips from this storyline?
Do you have the episode where Dimitri and Jack get in a fight? I think in NYC? I feel like it was right around this time....
They were the ONLY reason I watched All My Children.... writers really dropped the ball when they broke them up
Me too !!! I love Erica and Dimitri together. AND NOBODY ELSE, INCLUDING JACK.
Right!!!! He really stood by her and he was the only one I ever heard her say I love you I swear on Bianca 's life!!!! The scenes where just not genuine with other men..
Also I never saw what happened in the after-math of the stabbing- how did Erica react when she realized what she had done?
I liked Jack and Erica at different times on the show, I will admit, but by 2005 I was just done with them. I didn't particularly want them back together because TPTB seemed unwilling to write anything new and interesting for them. They just repeated the same storylines over and over again.
I agree with everyone. I'll watch any clip with these two in it.
I agree! Jack/Erica were hot in the late 80's/Early 90's but 2005 and onwards they were so predictable and stale, as was all of AMC by that point. Watching older clips like this just can't compare to the crap that AMC turned into in it's final years...
I didn't like Jake or the actor who played him. His voice was annoying!!
Are you talking about the hit in front of Edmund's campaign office when they argued about some forged letter that Kendall wrote and the book that Del Henry wrote about Erica ? If not, how many fake hit and run happened ?
Dimitri and Erica's story was one of the best stories on AMC.
I absolutely agree!!!
