Great detailed analysis -- best one on UA-cam. The fakes are rampant on eBay for the Jordans and other big cards right now. Either buy cards in person with the help a jeweler's loupe, or request high resolution scans from the seller if buying online. If the seller is truly on the up and up, he/she should have no problem sending you high res photos. Great video, man.
Yeah hopefully this gets out to MJ collectors so we can help put a end to some of these scammers taking advantage of guys I just hate to see it. Its really tough to see the fine details on ebay with the poor listing photos better off just staying clear of raw mj rcs.
@@321lkjackson my favorite is “ive had it in my safe for 30 years” ok well you have had a reprint for 30 years . Yeah hard to say I mean I imagine there could be a small percentage of guys out there that haven’t touched a card since they was a kid that had one in there childhood collection and heard the news about it and found it and listed it but thats rare. Better to always assume the worst on these raw cards.
I think the beauty of this card is its imperfections . it almost gives it a ruff 80 's vibe just like the time period it came from aggressive manufacturing and character Love it !!
Nice video and good educational video! I’m a person that has been a victim of buying a fake MJ rookie back in 2004. Have it to this day. I have my bgs graded MJ with my full 86 fleer set all graded 8 and higher set. Wouldn’t buy a MJ now online unless it was psa or bgs graded. Pay attention people! Great video!
After taking a shot everytime you said "perfect", I can't tell which is one is real or fake.. Good video man. Nothing will be able to replicate the real deal, but it is getting harder to tell with the naked eye.
Great observations love the video!! You taught me a lot even though I will never afford a Jordan rookie. Could you do a 86 jerry rice topps rookie card? When you get bored and haven’t got nothing else to do. Keep up the great video.
Love your content it's GOLD I've been collecting for 40 + years and you tell e'm mate this is gem mint sorry you got ripped hoping justice come your way
I have upper deck, Zforce skybox, topps, fleer Metal, and NBA hoops. I’ve had them since I was a kid. Any news on those cards? You have not mentioned them. Sorry, it’s been a while since I’ve seen NBA cards. I just went and searched my stuff. Sorry I’m new to your channel and nba cards checking if it’s fake or not. Any advice?
I’ve bought over a 1000 of these reprint Jordan cards at several different times and most are printed differently, which it cool with me because, I’m a big MJ collector and not just basketball cards, so to me it doesn’t matter if it’s fake or reprint but I do, do my due diligence. This image could be on a sheet of toilet paper. I WANT IT! MJALLDAY!
The one thing i realize that it's' a fake card was the backside. Its shiny and looking like a mirror. I definately feel vintage cards are not like that. I doubt a Honus Wagner RC would look shiny even if it was in mint condition. When I notice the shine, that was a giveaway.
Really thats incredible I mean in 87 this card was only a few dollars. I had one in 1990 and I remember it being 300 in a tuff stuff magazine. I had cards in 1982 but i was only a kid so I wouldn’t say I was technically a collector. Thanks for the insight and I really appreciate you checking out my video.
@@cardgems Absolutely the sports card industry is so white hot it’s ridiculous. Naturally I have been collecting for Decades and it’s never been this crazy or insane the sheer price scale wax boxes raw cards graded cards just mind-boggling..
There’s a guy local here in Pittsburgh pa selling a mangled one but I’ve asked several times to inspect in person and he’s ignoring me . Says he will ship . Fake .
I almost lost $2k to a fake this year. It passed the main tests but the back bottom lettering appeared smudged. If it wasn't for that, I would have lost $2k that day. No more shady parking lot "deals" for me.
Collectors are getting taken advantage of everyday by these greedy scam artist. Honestly I recommend avoiding any and all ungraded copies. Fakes has gotten to good and can pass most ppls eye test outside of a professional grader.
Well I am having second thoughts now, I always thought I had a fake, But not so sure, BTW I bought mine in the mid 90's so it would be the original fakes
Unfortunately fake cards have been around along time. Id suggest sending it to sgc its cheap and you get it back fast and at least you will know for sure then crack it and send to the more expensive psa to maximize your value.
Never buy popular old cards. The seller has to take the card back, it’s illegal in the United States to sell fake cards, if they didn’t know it’s fake then they will have to refund it. You can have the seller arrested for fraud.
Who told you that it's a civil matter it's not counterfeit money lol if the seller doesn't give you a refund you will have to take them to court to get it back. Trust me I know first hand because as long as the seller says he didn't know you can't prove he does and the cops will not waste there time lol
Don’t buy raw Jordan’s RC online! every Jordan i ever bought raw i insisted I’ll travel to u and buy it in person (I would say u would be surprised but you’re probably not )how many excuses I’ve heard why I can’t come and buy it in person. LOL but I’ve had a few ppl that didn’t have a problem with it but, of the few I would have to slightly offend the seller and tell them sorry it’s a fake!
omg no offense bro, but 11 minutes in and no information given on how to spot a fake. It's just dragging on and on. I'd rather google the info at this point. Again, no offense, prob some great info coming, but I won't see it lol

Awesome man. I thought I had a decent enough idea of how to spot a fake, but wow this opened my eyes to how little I knew. Terrific video.

Hi do you have any information or know where I can find information on this rookie card that was issued overseas?
Which one specifically he has a few that were issued overseas
As the card aged did that back white boarder almost turn yellowish? Has anyone noticed that?
