Hey Leon! I just found your channel and first of all wanted to say that your videos are nice to watch and pretty well edited :3 I'm totally new to Wire Bonsais, I have already watched a few videos from time to time and I'm kinda interested. Also considering if I would like to start as well... I have already read a few comments of your videos (still need to binge watch them when I have more time) but could you probably help me and sum me up, which things are actually needed to get started? For example, which wire, size, tools etc. Also have a question: Is there a difference between using copper wire or aluminium wire? I checked and there is a price difference. Also don't know how much is actually needed to do one etc. heeelp :D Hope you are keep going and happy to support your channel :3
Hi, Jenny! Thank you for your kind words. I use anodized aluminum wire. The texture is better than copper imho. And there are tons of color choices. I use 1mm wire (19 gauge), and the main tools i use are scissors for cutting the wire and rounded head pliers to make the leaves. You dont need to spend much to do this. 5 ounces of wire cost around $12 here. Maybe a lil bit expensive in your place. Try amazon
@@leonwireart4907 Ditto, Leon. I am gathering what I need to make an attempt at this amazing hobby. I just stripped a few pounds of copper wire. I'm gonna start with that I think, and see how it goes. For this particular project, what length of wire did you start with, folded in half? @Jenny, 23 feet of 1mm wire on Amazon is $18. Leon, what size wire do you use for the "greenery". The end result is absolutely flippin' amazing!
@@leonwireart4907 I was looking I to rio Grande for my bigger wire spools. But I dont think they have different colors. Amazon has some but its smaller amounts. Didnt know if you knew of a wholesale company. Anyways thanks for replying. I have only made 2 trees and a few rings and braclets. But I am hooked on some wire art.

Hi sir , what is the material for the grass ur using ?
Its called artificial grass. It’s basicly colored sawdust, you can make it on your own by soaking sawdust on water based paint

Sir what's the name of the green powder you used in the base

How do you calculate the length of the wire needed ?
To be honest, I don’t. After making hundreds of trees I just know the length I needed for specific size of tree.
