- SC Maintenance Order For Muslim Women: All married women, including Muslims, can claim maintenance from husbands under Sec 125 CrPC. "A big win for gender equality," says Senior Advocate Karuna Nundy. "There are a number of issues that have been clarified by the court. Sec. 125 of the CrPC, under which you can get maintenance against your husband, applies to Muslims, non-Muslims, and all married women. It also applies to all non-Muslim divorced women. Insofar as divorced Muslim women are concerned, if Muslim women are married and divorced under Muslim law, then Section 125 of the CrPC as well as the provisions of the 1986 Act - which is the codification of Sharia Law, are applicable. The option lies with the Muslim divorced woman to seek a remedy under either of the two laws or both laws," said Nundy

When you are getting paid to break a contract(i. e : marriage contract), then it's likely that divorces are going to be encouraged.
Yes absolutely, look at the US. Our overall divorce rate is about 50%. It won't stop with alimony. Next comes no fault divorce. Then people will ckaor for "assistance" for all the single mothers. So then that is encouraged as well. It spirals into hell. The news you guys see from the US about violent cities? That has zero to do with guns. It comes from what I just mentioned.
So is divorce a wrong thing? You want your wife to silently suffer domestic violence by you and your parents.
Divorce is a million times better than what most women go through.
@@JJ-hp6mbFirst of all domestic violence is a two-way street. Husbands too suffer from DV from their wives. The problem isn't unidimensional.
Secondly, women who haven't suffered DV can also seek maintenance/alimony from their husbands. So don't bring outliers to justify your contention. An abuser deserves jail time and not freedom by paying his/her way out. This leads to extortion from the other side.

Why would a divorced woman still be getting maintenance from her former husband??? Shouldn't she earn her own money??? We hear talk of empowerment of women yet somehow this empowerment vanishes into thin air when it comes to taking alimony/maintenance from their former husbands. Why is this additional burden thrust upon men by our legal system??? No such burden exists on women.
