Sirama Yeah I mean it’s pure fact that SM produces the most well-rounded vocalists and performers. Literally no company has such consistently proficient main vocalists in all the groups like SM, and dancing wise, cough cough, Yunho Eunhyuk Hyoyeon Luna Kai Lay Taemin Taeyong Ten, thank you very much *flip weave* Even their weakest aspect for years - rapping, got significantly improved with Taeyong Mark Lucas. I think that’s also why Lucas got put in the group, since he’s charismatic, a great dancer, very damn decent in rapping, good English enunciation, aaaaand arguably the most Western-like visual in the group
I'm not a fan of SM at all, but they do have some of the best dancers in the kpop industry, for sure, and a lot of them are in the same video lol. They also DO have some of the best vocals in the industry, I just feel like their production aren't always the best, sometimes questionable, and a lot of their songs don't let the idols/singers utilize their vocals range to the best.

Kai stole the visual bcoz of his charismatic dance, Baekyun stole my attention with his first part singing & his high note, Taemin stole with his soft deep & charismatic voice and Taeyong... I love the way he did rap 👍👍👍

Kai's been catching my attention since Wolf not gonna lie lol. Come to think of it I think he was my first Kpop bias when I wasn't even into Kpop, his presence is just that strong
Adrian McKinnon is one of the composers this song, who actually composed exo's tempo and nct 127's superhuman too! That explains why the three songs have some similarities. Tay Jasper who composed Exo's Kokobop and Nct 127's come back also worked on this. This song is produced by some of the best composers!
In terms of editing, I really like Ten's last dance where it looks like stop motion kinda. His actions are emphasized by the effect and it looks badass. Also the choreo itself makes his moves stand out a bit more. Perfect blend of editing, Ten's dance ability and the awesome choreo.
I so agree though about the lyrics. I also don't like lyrics like these since they mostly make no sense. But the music and the choreo were badass. Btw aside from Baek's vocals, both of Mark's raps sounded way too good to me. Somehow he stands out a lot and has character.

*I saw someone on Twitter explaining the "Avengers of kpop" thing. The members are maintaining their original groups and solo work, but have this "avengers group" on top of that. The avengers have their own successful movies, Spider-Man, Ironman, Thor, etc, but they have a different feel when they come together as the Avengers. It's kinda supposed to be the same for SuperM. Each member have their own careers, their own groups, but they have a new synergy and group dynamic when these 7 come together as their own "Avengers group".*

It feels like something is missing, I think they should have added that fantastic beat from the first dance break, if not as the chorus, but at least at the end of each chorus. Luckily, SM has an infinite amount of time to turn around and add in these parts as a remix, but overall the group is great

I think that’s what makes it work? Before i thought oh, they’re gonna make this NCT and friends, but like visually, you can’t get any better than this combination. Kai, Baekhyun, and Taemin really stood out. Like vocally. Their vocal colors all work together. Baekhyun and Taemin compliment each other vocally. Kai builds that bridge between Taemin and Baekhyun, and NCT. The song itself was good. I think it was good bc it had only build up. Once it got to the bridge it was nice, Baekhyun Highnotes ooo weee. The album was amazing too. I ended up listening to the whole album by accident 😂 like i wanted to listen to only jopping but when the other songs played, i didn’t even skip. Lord.

In a 4 minute song SM couldn't give them something more to work with. Lucas being an idol for something over a year, you can see how he'd get less lines, but still you wouldn't expect him to get close to nothing. In I can't stand the rain he got 1.7 seconds of lines, meanwhile baekhyun got 80 seconds. That's not fair. Ten and Lucas deserved to be there, and they deserve their time to shine within their new unit too. They're insanely talented people who deserve more respect as artists. D. .B While I wouldn’t go so far as to call Lucas insanely talented (he’s more adequately talented and insanely handsome), I agree he should at least get more than three lines and two words (in reference to 2Fast) in a song. In Jopping, I think he should have gotten Taeyong’s first or second verse. I don’t mind Ten’s lines because while it’s unequal, its inevitable when Taemin and Baekhyun are present as vocals, and he’s probably gonna be more prominent in live performances. Lucas, though, that’s straight up neglect. Hope he gets center time during the lives performances too.
When you talk about SuperM on Amino, are you going to mention about Capitol and how Capitol went after and signed NCT 127 first, and handled their US promotion? I've never seen anyone talk about SuperM mentioning that fact. They talk about Capitol and then just tack on NCT, like their successes were not the reason why Capitol wanted to partner with SM more in the first place. With Capitol, NCT 127 did have quite a bit of success in US: 2nd highest charting billboard k-pop group, sold out tour dates, fastest charting billboard k-pop boy group ever, the highest US album sells out of all of the SM artist. I'm sure since you said you'd have an extensive talk about SM in the west, you're likely going to touch on this, and that's so refreshing! So many people who have talked about SuperM don't bother researching anything about NCT, have no idea Capitol signed them, or even the simple fact that Capitol promoted them in the US, before making assumptions about NCT and SuperM and Capitol, and I don't get how they just disregard that but will research and talk about everyone else. In all the years that I’ve been a kpop fan I’ve always avoided commenting things like this and avoided getting into discussions over stuff like this. but lately I’ve been so frustrated with the attitude people are having towards this group. & I know this song has already been getting a lot of backlash. And this isn’t directed at anyone on this channel. But I just want to say this. It’s just a debut, we have to keep that in mind. Many groups first debut weren’t strong (not saying this is the case for jopping because I personally think it was a great debut) but then went on to do great things. So I don’t think people should just “cancel” them right away. To me a debut is just the beginning of something. And I think this is a pretty strong start. Even if people don’t like the song, it makes me really upset that people seem to discredit the hard work each member put into it. They might not have had any say in this matter so let’s not attack them. No one truly knows what goes on behind the scenes. Imagine all the hard work and endless hours of practice they must have put in for this while still trying to work and perform with their other respected groups. It must be so heartbreaking for them to see comments like that. If you want to blame someone, don’t blame them. Don’t make them feel like their efforts and hard work were for nothing. I think we should all give them the credit they deserve individually for the talents they have shown and will continue to show. We all should have faith in our biases because no matter what they will always shine and I think that’s what is important. If you truly love the members like you say you do, then you should support them in every way you can. This is their career and we should just be supportive in letting them do what they enjoy and love & that is performing.

Re: SM flexing how much money they have - they couldn't have put together some half arsed video when they have this talent to showcase ! It’s crazy because Lucas probably has the most appeal to American audiences out of all the members. His look, his personality, and his voice can all make him super popular, yet for whatever reason he gets the least exposure in the song and MV... I had the same thoughts and worries. SM was just so cocky in their entrance, plus there are already tour dates I'm like okay they don't want to take this slow?? I'm also worried for the members health because their schedules are craaaaazy because they would still be continuing with their original groups tours. Taemin is continuing with solo promos as well. Anyways, yes this video got my head bobbing and my heart throbbing. This got me excited to see more of them. I like the screen time every member got, I like the raps (this introduced me to Mark and Taeyong's godly rap skills) and I definitely loved vocal lines by Baekhyun and Taemin. I'd love to see a dance practice of this or a performance video!! There is a very weird definition of jopping in the dictionary that I don't want to ever read again i am worried it would come out as a joke lol. They aren't meant to be "The Avengers", they are meant to be "The Avengers of K-Pop" and that has a reason. They aren't superheroes, they aren't meant to have superpowers, BUT they have really various abilities in the group, the best of the best, dancing, singing, rapping and visuals on point. Also, those groups coming together as one is like the Avengers, it makes sense because it has like the same concept. I understand the cringe, but it's overused by now. It's not cringy at all to me.
I feel the same way about the lyrics & overall production. Its all super high scale, you have some of the most amazing individuals in the kpop scene, and man are they all VISUALS. But I don't know, it felt a little empty to me. But I am one of those people, like PD mentioned, who is not into songs about flexing (huge turn off for me) so this probably wasn't up my alley. I'm super excited to see how America reacts to them, though I am very nervous for that as well considering SM's track record too. Am I the only one who loved that stadium concert scene?? Like when I first saw it, I was wowed! It was so meaningful for me because each of them had experienced concerts. And that signified all of their fandoms gathered together. United together cheering and supporting them and they're putting up a great show. They better be braggy, cocky, goddy attitude. They don't need to be humble looking because they are not rookies. They have been in the industry for a long time now. That's what I think.

the fact of them calling themselves "the avengers" in my opinion might have something to do with the first an second seasons of produce 101 when they formed a group with who was considered the best in there and called it the avengers, so superm is the union of some of the best idols in this industry, so they are The Avengers

The US music listeners know what good music is and many people who write about music also know how to make it so just because a song is overproduced with a high budget doesn't make it a good song if it's not musically interesting. I'm disappointed with this project that's clearly not an artistic project, but more a money venture schemed up by Capitol records to cash in on the Korean boygroup wave and SM arrogance that they can continue with their bad management because they have strong brand power. In terms of editing, I really like Ten's last dance where it looks like stop motion kinda. His actions are emphasized by the effect and it looks badass. Also the choreo itself makes his moves stand out a bit more. Perfect blend of editing, Ten's dance ability and the awesome choreo.
I so agree though about the lyrics. I also don't like lyrics like these since they mostly make no sense. But the music and the choreo were badass. Btw aside from Baek's vocals, both of Mark's raps sounded way too good to me. Somehow he stands out a lot and has character.

The avengers have their own successful movies, Spider-Man, Ironman, Thor, etc, but they have a different feel when they come together as the Avengers. It's kinda supposed to be the same for SuperM. I think that’s what makes it work? Before i thought oh, they’re gonna make this NCT and friends, but like visually, you can’t get any better than this combination. Kai, Baekhyun, and Taemin really stood out. Like vocally. Their vocal colors all work together. Baekhyun and Taemin compliment each other vocally. Kai builds that bridge between Taemin and Baekhyun, and NCT. The song itself was good. I think it was good bc it had only build up. Once it got to the bridge it was nice, Baekhyun Highnotes ooo weee. The album was amazing too. I ended up listening to the whole album by accident 😂 like i wanted to listen to only jopping but when the other songs played, i didn’t even skip. Lord.

In a 4 minute song SM couldn't give them something more to work with. In I can't stand the rain he got 1.7 seconds of lines, meanwhile baekhyun got 80 seconds. That's not fair. In Jopping, I think he should have gotten Taeyong’s first or second verse. I don’t mind Ten’s lines because while it’s unequal, its inevitable when Taemin and Baekhyun are present as vocals, and he’s probably gonna be more prominent in live performances. Lucas, though, that’s straight up neglect. Hope he gets center time during the lives performances too.

When you talk about SuperM on Amino, are you going to mention about Capitol and how Capitol went after and signed NCT 127 first, and handled their US promotion? I've never seen anyone talk about SuperM mentioning that fact. They talk about Capitol and then just tack on NCT, like their successes were not the reason why Capitol wanted to partner with SM more in the first place. With Capitol, NCT 127 did have quite a bit of success in US: 2nd highest charting billboard k-pop group, sold out tour dates, fastest charting billboard k-pop boy group ever, the highest US album sells out of all of the SM artist. I'm sure since you said you'd have an extensive talk about SM in the west, you're likely going to touch on this, and that's so refreshing! So many people who have talked about SuperM don't bother researching anything about NCT, have no idea Capitol signed them, or even the simple fact that Capitol promoted them in the US, before making assumptions about NCT and SuperM and Capitol, and I don't get how they just disregard that but will research and talk about everyone else.

In all the years that I’ve been a kpop fan I’ve always avoided commenting things like this and avoided getting into discussions over stuff like this. but lately I’ve been so frustrated with the attitude people are having towards this group. & I know this song has already been getting a lot of backlash. And this isn’t directed at anyone on this channel. But I just want to say this. It’s just a debut, we have to keep that in mind. Many groups first debut weren’t strong (not saying this is the case for jopping because I personally think it was a great debut) but then went on to do great things. So I don’t think people should just “cancel” them right away. To me a debut is just the beginning of something. And I think this is a pretty strong start. Even if people don’t like the song, it makes me really upset that people seem to discredit the hard work each member put into it. They might not have had any say in this matter so let’s not attack them. No one truly knows what goes on behind the scenes. Imagine all the hard work and endless hours of practice they must have put in for this while still trying to work and perform with their other respected groups. It must be so heartbreaking for them to see comments like that. If you want to blame someone, don’t blame them. Don’t make them feel like their efforts and hard work were for nothing. I think we should all give them the credit they deserve individually for the talents they have shown and will continue to show. We all should have faith in our biases because no matter what they will always shine and I think that’s what is important. If you truly love the members like you say you do, then you should support them in every way you can. I had the same thoughts and worries. SM was just so cocky in their entrance, plus there are already tour dates I'm like okay they don't want to take this slow?? I'm also worried for the members health because their schedules are craaaaazy because they would still be continuing with their original groups tours. Taemin is continuing with solo promos as well. Anyways, yes this video got my head bobbing and my heart throbbing. This got me excited to see more of them. I like the screen time every member got, I like the raps (this introduced me to Mark and Taeyong's godly rap skills) and I definitely loved vocal lines by Baekhyun and Taemin. I'd love to see a dance practice of this or a performance video!! They aren't meant to be "The Avengers", they are meant to be "The Avengers of K-Pop" and that has a reason. They aren't superheroes, they aren't meant to have superpowers, BUT they have really various abilities in the group, the best of the best, dancing, singing, rapping and visuals on point. Also, those groups coming together as one is like the Avengers, it makes sense because it has like the same concept. I understand the cringe, but it's overused by now. It's not cringy at all to me.
I feel the same way about the lyrics & overall production. Its all super high scale, you have some of the most amazing individuals in the kpop scene, and man are they all VISUALS. But I don't know, it felt a little empty to me. But I am one of those people, like PD mentioned, who is not into songs about flexing (huge turn off for me) so this probably wasn't up my alley. I'm super excited to see how America reacts to them, though I am very nervous for that as well considering SM's track record too. I hope America treats these members well and doesn't get confused by everything but yk how it is T.T
Also my man Taemin, you never cease to amaze me. I'm reminded of the 15 year old boy who debuted with Hello every time I watch him. Brings me so many feels.

Am I the only one who loved that stadium concert scene?? Like when I first saw it, I was wowed! It was so meaningful for me because each of them had experienced concerts. And that signified all of their fandoms gathered together. United together cheering and supporting them and they're putting up a great show. They better be braggy, cocky, goddy attitude. They don't need to be humble looking because they are not rookies. They have been in the industry for a long time now. That's what I think.

I'm loving this debut and the song itself. I personally think you need these flexing, bragging songs once in a while - it's a vibe and gives you energy. Just like 2NE1 or BIGBANG tracks it evokes confidence

the fact of them calling themselves "the avengers" in my opinion might have something to do with the first an second seasons of produce 101 when they formed a group with who was considered the best in there and called it the avengers, so superm is the union of some of the best idols in this industry, so they are The Avengers

the song was great but i do have to agree with what you said about the lyrics. they felt too bland for me and just kind of lazy.
it will be super interesting to see how the gp responds to the debut, especially because nothing about the concept/song is going to be very familiar for many people here in the us.
10 people were involved with writing the lyrics and the only good lines were Mark's rap part

I don’t get how this is a great song.. how??? Like it’s okay to appreciate the boys are talented, still love them and dislike the song at the same time. Clearly they had very little choice/involvement in writing and constructing it themselves .. which tbh bothers me even more because they should be allowed the freedom to .. but it just highlights how outdated the company is.
@@kittyr7095 honestly agree with your perspective on the song it's seriously disconcerting the guys had such little involvement in producing a body if work that's meant to represent them to the audience in the US. The US music listeners know what good music is and many people who write about music also know how to make it so just because a song is overproduced with a high budget doesn't make it a good song if it's not musically interesting. I'm disappointed with this project that's clearly not an artistic project, but more a money venture schemed up by Capitol records to cash in on the Korean boygroup wave and SM arrogance that they can continue with their bad management because they have strong brand power. I'm embarrassed for the guys the members thought this was an opportunity they might not get again and signing with a agency in the US was probably financially a better option than the one in Korea since there are laws in the US to protect artists. I'd love for the guys to have showcased their actual musical talents SIGH
i really enjoy the way he always talks about kpop cuz he sees the groups as real artists and the mvs as audiovisual products without caring about fandoms
