growing up I was fortunate to have the batman, brave and the bold, and arkham asylum, it was a good time to be a new batman fan in the 2000s, was able to enjoy the mainstream and the bizarre
Man, Batman Brave and the Bold has a cool looking Batmobile. Probably my second favorite design. Also, I really do like seeing different takes on Batman at Christmas.
I too link Christmas with a bad childhood memory, so I can relate to Batman. I call myself a grinch and say I don’t like Christmas but it’s just cause I’m kinda sad around this holiday.
I like to imagine that Batman beat the criminals that interrupted his moment with the gift from Alfred extra hard for interrupting his moment of genuine happiness.
I got the impression Batman thought work was more important, which is understandable, but I think he needs to spend time with his loved ones at Christmastide.
7:30 it actually kind of funny that the date Batman's parents dies constantly changes. In the 1939 detective series, his parents were murdered on September 19th. Other comics like the 2011 "Born to Kill" had specified his parents were murdered at around 10:48 pm. on June 26th. Then there's Brave and the Bold and the 2013 film where his parents were killed in December. I just find it funny how his parents death and details will forever remain a constant throughout other authors runs of their respective batman cómics while the date has either stayed consistent or thrown all around to fit the respective timeline of events in their stories
Superman, coming back from spending the holidays with his folks: "So, what did you guys do for Christmas?" Red Tornado: "Well... we saw Santa..." Superman: "Aww..."😊 Batman, knowing it was a robot, but forgetting to mention it: "AND WE KILLED HIM!" Superman: "Ohh..."😟
Actually Superman would fanboy over seeing Santa. Not only does he believe he’s real but he idolizes him too. So he wouldn’t just be shocked, he’d be horrified and heartbroken
@@julianvenegas642 Technically there is a Father Christmas robot who lives at the North Pole (in the Fortress of Solitude?), and brings a small lump of coal to Darkseid every Christmas. I thought this was stupid at first, and it is, but it makes sense: Darkseid actually lives 200,000 years into the future of the Marvel universe (the Old Gods are the Asgardians and he seems to be a Maestro-esque version of Hodr with Highfather being Balder and Metron being a resurrected Loki after Ragnarok), and Hodr is the god of darkness and night he seems to have a link with winter, whilst St. Nicholas serves Yhwh the god of creation, and thus would be able to challenge Darkseid.

I LOVE this episode. Specifically I love how this show handles the Wayne deaths with it. They avoid shoehorning the origin at its start but they still not only show it, but directly put focus on Bruce's guilt about it. And they make it a more special occasion by dedicating the Christmas episode on it. Something that's always an important part of his character, but rarely directly explored.

Man, Batman Brave and the Bold has a cool looking Batmobile. Probably my second favorite design. Also, I really do like seeing different takes on Batman at Christmas.
Brave and The Bold is such an underrated show, really glad that people have started talking about it more and more in the last few years!
I too link Christmas with a bad childhood memory, so I can relate to Batman. I call myself a grinch and say I don’t like Christmas but it’s just cause I’m kinda sad around this holiday.
It seems you suffer from seasonal affective disorder.
9:40 I swear, Red Tornado is the DC equivalent of Cliffjumper.
Despite being voiced by shockwave, animated ratchet, megatron, spike, brawn, g1 sunstreaker animated ironhide, brawn, g1 spike
@@BreadTeleporter006 Cliff has only died twice.
And recently too.
The third time was torture not yet dead.
In skybound? You make a good point
I like to imagine that Batman beat the criminals that interrupted his moment with the gift from Alfred extra hard for interrupting his moment of genuine happiness.
I got the impression Batman thought work was more important, which is understandable, but I think he needs to spend time with his loved ones at Christmastide.
If Shady Doorags wasn't famous for making KOTH episodes, this would be that show.
Superman, coming back from spending the holidays with his folks: "So, what did you guys do for Christmas?"
Red Tornado: "Well... we saw Santa..."
Superman: "Aww..."😊
Batman, knowing it was a robot, but forgetting to mention it: "AND WE KILLED HIM!"
Superman: "Ohh..."😟
Superman: "Huh, guess you had to be there."
Obligatory TFS reference.
@@rinyahto3852 TFS?
8:53 This is a love letter to the silver age. Villains are going to be stupid.
You mean hilarious and lighthearted minus Starro
@msmith1890 That too.
Comics code will do that. Still makes for some of the most fun campy stories. Honestly superhero content nowadays needs more camp. Not TTG levels of brain dead, but not everything needs to be BTAS levels of serious either.
@@vullord666 Why not introduce the things the Comics Code got rid of - harlequin, horror, alien abductions, historical, and weird fiction - into superhero comics?
2:06 ah yes. I too hate it when my ears blink.
Can you imagine what Christmas in Gotham would be like? Perfect opportunity for the Joker to go around handing out toys that are actually bombs. Batman would have his hands full, as usual. No wonder he's less than enthused.
That sort of thing happens in the BTAS Christmas episodes.
0:46 Whenever I think of Sportsmaster I also remember how Young Justice turned this joke villain into a badass on par with Deathstroke
The name "Sportsmaster" implies a Kraven the Hunter style persona, and he is the DC version of Taskmaster.
Cuando harán un condiment king serio?
@@williamdaviddiazcuchimaque7511 They came close in the BTAS episode when he briefly appears.
I hope to see some Justice League action in the future. That would make my Christmas
7:07 I’m remembering the Santa clause 2 nutcracker scene
Anyone who says that campy/silly Batman is bad needs to watch this show.
I liked how this show tried to show lesser known heroes
What, you're telling me that you don't spontaneously combust when you're filled with the Christmas spirit?
The moment you know, this is a red tornado episode. You know he’s going to die.
Brave and the Bold combined the campiness of the 60s series with the coolness 9f the 90s cartoon. A fun romp that embraces what it is
That Description sentence mate XD What a rare sentence to make.
9:14 WOULD SOMEONE GET HER OUT OF HERE?!
If you're still feeling festive for superheros, the batman 2004 season 4 episode "seconds" is a great episode with a new years coat of paint. I admit it's mostly set dressing, but the lesson of the episode does sorta hold the message of new years being able to give you a fresh start. Not to mention it's just a great superhero episode with a great villain gimmick! Besides, it'd be great to finally see you break into the batman 2004 sometime!
this is the episode that introduced me to red tornado and made him one of my all time favorates, and probably kicked of my obsessive love of robot character.
might not be the best but will always hold a place in my heart
I feel like there is a Santa Claus conquers the Martians joke somewhere in this
Red tornado is like a robotic air bender
Red tornado in this series is actually kind of sad ironic since this series is more light hearted he constantly tried to be human however never understanding it he eventually gave up even when he felt a "tingle" he described it as the best feeling despite Batman calling it saying in this episode "if that happened I'd call a mechanic"
2:30 nahhhhh that was cold (pun very much intended hahaha). Very entertaining video for my first watch on your channel, keep it up friend :)
Little girl: Of course not silly, your just a robot
Shiki Granbell: THEIR ALIVE DAMN IT !!!!!! They're not just scraps of metal, Machines are alive just like us AND MACHINES HAVE TEARS JUST LIKE US
Good watch as always, though I really have to applaud the red background with green rim-lighting on your avatar there. Very festive, very smooth and isn't going unnoticed.
I think I might need to rewatch Brave and the Bold. It's been too long. It's such a fun series.
Merry Christmas, Shady.
Oh boy, a new Shady holiday video just in time for Christmas!
4:56 - Mary Dahl... Baby Doll?!
Yep
The lovely Batman Christmas special people always forget! Glad it's here!
Never realised the bomb looked like baby doll from BTAS.
In my opinion Batman should have returned to the cave and Found Alfreds gift after knocking over red tornados gift.
implying be was so busy that he didn't even realize he completely missed alfreds gift and it slide under the seat.
From opening the gift and after looking at the heir loom then the Cup he finds irony in the "Worlds greatest detective never noticed Alfreds gift.
brooding abit and pausing he Is seen jumping in the batmobile in a cut away driving off. with the camera slowly turning to the hierloom and Mug sitting on a Desk.
Fun fact this show actually had the same voice director as the 90s Batman cartoon Andrea Romano. Which may explain the great casting in this series
fun fact: Batman's voice actor here voices Guy Gardner in GLTAS
5:02 some days you just can get rid of a bomb thanks red
Batman would be skilled enough to defuse the bomb in time.
Gee that won’t give kids nightmares will it
This was lowkey one of my favorite episodes of the entire series
5:20 ah....I know now why you didn't do Chill of the night first: setup. I remember what happens later in this episode
Requesting you talk about 'Generator Rex' day number 4. Talk about my favorite childhood show :( It has a monkey
Generator Rex was freaking awesome!
Finally! a new king of the... oh, wait, this is batman Brave and the Bold.
Disappointed that you didn't catch the obvious reference to "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" with the Neptune men wanting Santa for their own kids.
If you're interested in a better Red Tornado episode, I recommend Hail the Tornado Tyrant. It has one of the most somber endings of the entire show
It is also worth noting that Christmas is not a very good time for Batman/ Bruce Wayne.
I imagine Alfred is in the trunk where he hid after Batman came in while he was about to put the present in the car
You know, everytime I think of Sportsmaster, it's his Young Justice iteration, not TBatB's, so seeing him this campy and having good relations with his family is quite jarring to see.
1:09: Actually, the cold open is set before the ep proper, since Batman was supposed to be going home until Red Tornado needed an assist.
3:30: This begs a lot of questions: why is this universe so dependent on Batman, if not Batman being quite a go-getter, after the dissolution of its original Justice League?
4:24: Yep.
4:31: A Him expy. Also, to ensure of well executed DCAU fanservice without feeling out of place.
4:55: JC Denton: "A bomb."
6:33: Brings into mind the penultimate episode of Super Dimension Fortress Macross.
That's the cruel thing about TBatB's Batman: for all his leet skills and gadgets, seeing many sights and times, all around go-getterness, and subversion from the usual Silver Age cringe camp, he actually had a mean-spirited Crime Alley experience compared to any of the other Bruce Waynes out there.
No shade on Fun Haus being a Toyman expy too?
9:05: Somehow, I didn't notice the running gag.
9:35: Whatever, Red Tornado's happy to feel such merry cheer.
Can agree, I have no idea how Alfrd snuck the gift in the Batmobile. Wish we got a spotlight ep if not cold open that showcased that.
This was my first exposure to Red Tornado. Honestly Batman the Brave and the Bold is my favorite Batman series.
You had me at Batman killed Santa.
3:11 as a transformer fan bots have storage in thier cargo
Makes sense. Tornado *IS* voiced by G1 Shockwave
@@angbandsbanethis choice is the most logical Thing I have heard this year

Apparently Fun Haus is a new character introduced into this cartoon, same as Music Meister. Though some searches say that he's just Toyman under a different name.
I still cant believe Uncle Ruckus voiced Fun Haus in this episode
OOOO!! I was hoping you would do this one! It's amazing!
@5:20 that's a good point, just because I don't celebrate a certain holiday doesn't mean I would be okay if it was ruin for the people who do celebrate it
Merry Christmas Shady.
5:55 Fun Haus keeps reminding us of Superman’s nemesis the Toyman
I sensed Shady and superheroes, and thus I am here!
The Batman Beyond episode "Soul" is an interesting take on whether or not Batman is a real Hero without his tech.
On the same day I rewatched your first brave and the bold analysis. Well played shady, well played.
