Tried them on tonight and was pleasantly surprised. Will compare these against Saucony Xodus Ultra. (A few runs in on those and like them so far)

It’s a nice shoe for daily mileage, the down hills were very nice as well. Not as cushioned as some Hoka models as mentioned, but I’m OK with that my body doesn’t like that much squish. The one thing I would say, is the grip on loose gravel or those little micro rocks on top of dirt is a little sketchy at times. honestly, I’d pay $20 more for a pair of shoes. If it had the light base mega grip, that seems to work well in literally every condition also, first time running in these type of laces, a little fiddly and kind of annoying hard to get the right lock down in one spot versus another. I would say rolling terrain two. Semitechnical they’ll probably do fine. Took them up Sanitas Today and on the front side it got a little bit difficult, and the shoes went sideways on me a few times. Overall though, a really comfortable and well cushioned and responsive shoe.

@@trailandkale besides, my initial thoughts, one other thing to note, I swap socks, transitioning from one area to the second area that I decided to run and I think that was a mistake. The thinner more technical sock worked better. The thicker a bit looser sock was causing me to slide around in the shoe on some of the down hills.

how does it feel compared to Xodus Ultras?

@@jargontaka Xodus is way better cushion, and better traction. I’ve run in the Xodus now for a while. The ultra glide cushion went kinda dead on me pre 100 miles. The only thing with Xodus is you have to swap out the laces. They are way too stretchy and I couldn’t get good lockdown until I swapped them out. Same goes for saucony edge as well.

Hi, great review thanks. Did you size up at all? I always go extra size up in my running shoes compared to normal everyday shoes. Also did they need to be worn in or great from the box? Thanks

Hey 👋🏼 they fit true to size for me and they fell good right from the box. More info here: www.trailandkale.com/gear/salomon-ultra-glide-2-review/

@@trailandkale Thanks fro the reply. I just received them ( I ordered 2 sizes as I always do) and the size I usually go for I can feel the overlay with my little toe straight away - and that was a wide fitting and I have narrow feet. The 2nd pair was normal width yet another half size up and seem to be better at not feeling the overlay. Do they stretch slightly after a couple of runs did you notice or will this overlay feeling always be there I wonder

I'm undecided between this and the Glide trail max, can you give me some advice? I'm a novice at trail running, I do both asphalt and country paths. A thousand thanks

Would these also work for everyday use not just trail walking running?
City usage, theme park walking etc?
    Thanks.
