All the comments that I have read and heard so far on Irvine were from people from outside the Ferrari sphere, but never from staff from the team, which made me often wonder if there was some kind of ban on (ex-) Ferrari staff to comment on the Irish driver. That said, Eddie belongs to my favorite F1 era (the 1980s and 90s); an era with an appeal (drivers, circuits, teams, events on track...) that I never felt ever again. And besides, maybe the Schumacher-Irvine tandem was not the most successful Ferrari lineup, but there was something special about it, and I strongly admired Eddie as Michael's wingman.
Ok, i'm going to the F1 GP at Silverstone next weekend, and even though i'm supporting Lewis i will wear my Eddie Irvine t-shirt from 1999.... and yes i'm a grown up but Eddie will always be my F1 hero !!
No one deserves a championship. They earn one. He just couldnt do it, just like countless talented drivers over the decades. No matter how much we like crazy Eddie, he was always a second tier driver
Wrong, Ferrari 'mislaid' a wheel during that pit stop thus preventing him winning the world championship because questions about Schumachers pay in comparison would have been brought up... Eddie was screwed in the ass.
I sincerely believe, that there was some Kind of "plot" or "sabotage" behind the scenes, that led to the final result of losing the 1999 F1 championship. IRVINE Was NOT ALLOWED (!!) tp become Champion because of SCHUMACHER!!! That's the TRUTH, I believe.

my favorite driver!
Great one !
James Hunt discovered him & TBH he lived up to it 1999 should have been his 🏆

If Ferrari hadn't had a break during that pitstop he would have been world champion

One of the unluckiest driver in F1 history
Having THE Micheal as a teammate and Hakkinen as an opponent really wasn't lucky at all lol
@@Villani_AV agree 😂
@@chanukatc Ferrari did a shit behaviour against Eddie, it's of course a sabotage against him because of Schumacher!
