its definitely the safest option to buy for someone who doesn't own a flagship cube yet considering how cheap the TV3 flagship model is compared to GAN and now even to Moyu's top of the line. But realistically, everyone gets bored of using the same cube and start maining other cubes in their collection lmao.

I just got the pioneer version pf it because i do not need the extra stability from the flagship, because i cannot turn very fast and consistently. I average around sub 20 so look ahead is way mor important to me. But indeed, it is fast.

Yes, you get pretty much everything. You get customizable magnets and tensions, you get a magnetic core, and if you want MagLev then get the pioneer. The Tornado V3 is the sweet spot between the GAN 14 and Moyu releases this year. The GAN 14 is very customizable however very expensive, The WRM V9 has really good performance but the least customizable out of these cubes and it's more expensive than the Tornado V3. For the same price, you could get the CH WRM 2021 Maglev which is a former Yoo Cube because CubeHead thinks that the V3 performs better. The Tornado V3 has a reasonable price and a really good performance.
Here are some personal settings for the cube I use if I want the cube to be fast, slow, or in the middle.
For fast cubes, this is kind of balanced but more on the quick side: Inner: 3, Outer 1, Magnets: 4 or 2 if you want to make it faster.
For in the middle, but it's more controllable, I use Inner 3, Outer 4, and Magnets: 3. These are the Yoo Cube settings and I use these settings the most.
And lastly, here's my controllable setup: Inner: 3, Outer 5, Magnets: 2. This setup reminds me of the RS3M, stable and weak magnets.
The cube is very customizable and it can fit a lot of turning styles and the price is reasonable. Which is why it is still the best cube of the year.

my personal opinion on this matter is that there is no objectively a "best cube". a cube that performs better for you may perform worse for other person, and vice versa. so the real question would be if the tornado v3 is still viable, which it completely is

The TV3 cwme out in september last year, not early this year
I have the pioneer and it honestly feels very slow. I initially lubed it witha small amount of weight 5 on tracks, Dignitas and DNM
Figured that was the problem so I ended up in settings 1-1.
Still felt slow (compared to WRM V9 20MAG and gan 12M)
Then I went with a faster lube combo. Tiny bit Dignitas on tracks and SCS Lunar with DNM. Still slow idk what I'm doing wrong at this point...

Hmm interesting opinion! I do have the weilong v9 special edition! However, I do enjoy the regular weilong v9 a bit better. But Phil Yu definitely likes the special edition more. Hmm… would you like me to make a video on it?

Don't get me wrong, The tornado v3 is amazing but the build quality is just trash. The plastic on mine is cracking a lot, so are the maget capsules. Many of the corner magnets also popped into the pieces during solves and I don't want to break the cube even more trying to get them back into place.

For me no. I have a tornado v3 and it just doesnt fit my turning style. I have a gan 13 and a gan 12 and they fit my tyrning style perfectly. The 12 is my 3x3 main because it is slightly better in my opinion. The 13 is my OH main as i find its more stable. The tornado v3 is good however doesnt work for mw
We are the opposite lmao I barely use my gan 12 and 13. Current main is the tv3 pio uv and I like it better than gan lol.
Gotcha! Gan cubes are undoubtably good cubes, besides the fact that they’re expensive😭 I like my gan 13 and 12 as well, and I use them every once in a while!

Tornado v2 is also pretty much blocky at least on the highest magnetic strength

I’m on my third and 2 lost magnets on at least one of the pieces in less than 2 weeks of lifetime. Low quality stuff even tough I like how silent they are (flagship is quieter than pioneer)
The only problem with the Tornado is that many of us are still solving on the white cross. The little plastic case has a little X logo on the top which means the logo on the cube lines up with it when you put it in the box with white facing up. But when you start with a white cross, you end up with yellow on top. So you have to turn the cube upside down when you've solved it to put it back in the box. hahaha not really the biggest problem but still... hahaha
