    I love ayrton too, but face it, ayrtons death saved him from being outclassed, outmuscled, beaten to a pulp by schumacher. schumacher completly assraped senna in the previous 3 races, he couldnt match schumachers pace during the race that is a fact. michael without all the penalties and black flags in 1994 was dominant. hill didnt deserve the title in 94

    You are dreaming if you think Ayrton would have won in 1994 and 1995. Schumacher already had Senna behind the 8 ball in 1994. At 34 years of age, Senna was still a great driver, but Schumacher was better in every respect. More fit, worked better with the engineering staff, more of a team player and more dedicated to becoming the best. In the early to mid 90's, Senna had peaked as a driver, whereas Schumacher was arguably his equal and just getting better.

    • @_Odin_

      I hope after 6 years that you have matured and lost the rose tinted glasses. Hill brought the championship down to the last race in 94. If you are telling people on here that Senna wouldn't have had it wrapped up by 1 - 2 races before the end of season, I presume you are still strapped into a straitjacket all these years later.

    • @stephanclemens2348

      @@_Odin_ He got banned for 2 races & disqualified for the british GP because he swerved in Front of Hill in the Formationlap and ignored first the Penalty & then the subsequent blag flag. Those events would not necessarily take place in a scenario where Senna is still alive.
      One can make an argument in Sennas favour, for sure, but i'm not sure that Hills Final Result is very representative for what would have happened.

    Schumacher scored more points than Senna from his 3rd race in 1991 until last race against Senna on 1st may 1994, being a rookie.
    In 1996 Schumacher would have destroyed Senna. If Senna had not died, everyone now would consider Schumacher better than Senna.

    Brawn insisted that there had never been any intention for Schumacher to become the dominant driver when they worked together at Benetton and Ferrari.
    "First of all I never wanted Michael to dominate. Michael dominated because he was the best," he said. "There was never a structure that enabled him to dominate. He dominated because he was the fastest and most consistent driver. So we will have to see how the season develops.

  • @Mr18000rpm
    @Mr18000rpm 11 років тому +13

    Senna was dead for almost two years when Schumacher made his deal with Ferrari. Even if he had been alive, I doubt that this would have been the case. I think that Senna went to Williams because they had the best technology at the time and McLaren was no longer dominant as they were from 1988 to 1991. I doubt that Ayrton would have relished the thought going to a team (Ferrari) that hadn't had a race victory in the previous 3 racing seasons at 34 years of age.

    • @fadliarfan212
      @fadliarfan212 7 років тому +3

      Nope. Senna always fond of Ferrari, he wants to end his career in Ferrari.
      It was revealed later on that Senna is already made a deal to move and sign for Ferrari in 1996 (after his contract with Williams end).
      When Senna died in 1994, Ferrari just simply offer that contract to Schumacher, Jean Todt already 'eyeing' Schumy anyway.
      Schumacher considering this, fed-up and dissapoint with the way Benetton handled the controversial season of 1994 help this decision to be much easier, that's why he already announce and made his decision so early in 1995 season, I believe it was British GP, sometimes around half to the season when the championship and constructor is still wide open.
      Many quite surprise by this decision and believe it was a wrong move (why left one of the best team at that time anyway). But he prove his worth and made Ferrari formidable again!

    Ferrari last had a World Championship Title on 1979. Schumacher probably drove a crappy car before it clinched its next title with Michael Schumacher on it and continued gathering more with him on it.
    Both Senna and Schumacher are awesome gods of the sport of Formula One. No one can compare to these two. Seven World Championship Titles for Schumacher, Three for Senna. But without comparing these numbers, go observe how both EQUALLY achieved popularity and level of praise.

    I just laughed at JB complaining that Schumacher had the best car and the best team.
    Yeah, that's what great champions like Senna and Schumacher do, they surround themselves with the best of the best and build the best car. Unlike some drivers, who like other people to do that for them and land in a prepared bed (dutch expression)
    MS worked his ass off in every little detail and that's why he upped Benneton from good to great and Ferrari from great to the greatest.

  • @Mr18000rpm
    @Mr18000rpm 11 років тому +9

    I guess that means that Schumacher was way better at winning races then, like more than 100 percent better than Senna? Yes, that does "says it all".

  • @BelegCuthali0n
    @BelegCuthali0n 13 років тому +2

    Only after a tragic death, all controversy dies and absolute god status is granted. MS made the stupid mistake of staying alive. Now he will have to wait for time to grant him the status he deserves.
    In 20 or 30 years, when his records still stand, will nobody be able to deny how exceptional Schumacher has been. That's the price for staying alive.
    But judging by the thumbs up/down ratio of most Schumacher videos, the large majority of people have already accepted Schummi the greatest.

    ^ Actually the driver is ~20%, the car, the team behind and luck making up the rest of 80% .
    But without Schumacher the likes of Brawn, Byrne and Co. wouldn't have followed him to Ferrari and turn the Scuderia around.
    Schumacher's greatness comes from being able to spot, befriend/connect and attract the loyalty of such great men (Brawn, Byrne and Co.) and together to build the winning team and winning car.
    Schumacher was the greatest total package in Grand Prix racing history.

My last post indicates that I believe that it was not coincidence Schumi was fighting for the ch'ship 11 of his 15 years in F1...He definitely has a positive effect on the car's development, as can be seen in 96, the Benetton years. Thats how F1 today is different from the pre-schumi era. The drivertoday is expected to work with the team, have high technical knowledge, a la alonso, and get the results.

      aj2718281 just for your information - Schumacher did almost NEVER have the best car....only from 2001-2004 his car was the best. In 1992-1997 the Williams were the best cars, from 1998-2000 it were the McLarens...and 2005 and 2006 it were the Renaults...so for most of his career Schumacher was in a car that was not the best! Even though he had won most races, most championships!!!

    YOU fool mallamoozoo, Senna just got the crowd in his back because he died so tragically. Its known that dead artists or drivers whatever get more known and appreciated then the still living. But go to Google's newsgroup search old topics when Senna was living. He was at least as controversial as Schumacher (both as a driver and as a person) is now, and no, not everybody considered him as the greatest thing since sliced bread. His death made him more popular - also as a driver. Sad, but true

    But not every driver carried the same amount of racing fuel u knob. Schumacher usually went into race quite heavy. 10kg of fuel mean 2-5/10 depends on curcuit. When u include that Schumacher would have 20 poles more.
    Quali means nothing, u get 0 points for that. The race win counts. The car with more fuel in tank at the start has an advantage in tactics that's why Schumacher was always heavy. Heavy means u can't go always for pole.

    Take some time to think and its not so straightforward. Where were Brawn and Byrne BEFORE schu came into f1? Thats right, they were still in Benetton, working but not getting any results.
    In 1996, Schu went to Ferrari, Brawn, Byrne stayed at Benetton, but Ferrari finished AHEAD of Benetton that year in the constructors.
    Evidence that Schumi was the catalyst. Brawn, with the experience of working with Schumi, is now helping Button.

The reason for that was that the Ferrari designer John Barnard was not fexible and didn't want to come from the U.K. to Italy. Why didN#t Schumacher stay with Benetton when he just wanted to ride Brawn's coat tail?

I don't know much about F-1 so that's why I'd never make any bold statements like I knew anything but I'm interested about these two titans because they were so good in their respective sport. It is completely useless to discuss with u. When u go heavier in the race u get less poles. When u look at the 1 stops Schumacher allways was one of the latest stoppers. That is proven and he nearly allways was heavier than Barrichello.

    Is that Mallamoozoo still here stalking schumacher videos! - Face it, Schumacher in the end would've edged Senna, especially in the fuel stop era. His fitness level would've crushed Senna in terms of getting 20 laps worth of qualifying like laps to win a race.

    And last season Button was favourized over Barrichello? Come on stop that crap. Schumacher even had a disadvantage he used the tyres more, why he often had to take the harder ones in contrary to Barrichello who could always use the softest version.

    Schumacher just was quicker in 185 races that's the order.

    @piro4351 Schumy is a fantastic driver, one of the greatest, but the idea that he would've outclassed Senna is wishful thinking. Senna's Williams was a very difficult car to drive, fast, but very challenging. The Benettons were running illegal traction and launch controls, (as were the Ferraris I understand) which explains why Senna was faster over one lap but not over a full race distance. The assumption you make is based on just 3 results, but the results alone don't tell the whole story.

    And now is he too prime ?!?!?
    And Rosberg... is he too young ?!?!?
    For what does Schumacher actually experience is ?!?!
    No excuses for Schumacher please !!!
    If Senna not dead:
    1- Senna (7 Championships 88,90,91,94,95,96 and 97).
    2- Schumacher (5 Chamiponships 00, 01, 02, 03 and 04).
    3- Fangio (5 Championships)
    4- Prost (4 Championships)
    And if 1989 wasn't stolen from Senna it would be 8 Championships, that is the limit, maybe Vettel can do it !!!

    it¨s a joke? You can´t compare Airton and Michael, we only have to enjoy it, and also Ayrton sais in Belgium that Michael will be someone bigger when he crashed his car

    @samsemtex Man, why so much arguing and hollering! Schumacher's favourite driver is Ayrton Senna! Wanna keep lurking around the same thing? Gosh, people just don't know anything about the sport

    Stop talking crap 200 times, haha. Tell me how often they switched places?
    Why should Schumacher ran from Räikkönen? He is no match for him, even Massa was better in the last time. Without the team order in the last race switching places between Massa and Kimi he even wouldn't be world champion. But that is ok, nothing to bitch about.
    217 actual drivers? Tell me how that works?
