Just bizarre how they didnt launch this on a dedicated box..or make an app available for download via Apple, Google etc. I mean you can get boxes from Talk Talk, EE and Virgin which pretty much have the same functionality but also allow you add packs and channels.
They will eventually, they are just partnered with Heisense so they can make you buy a new tv to use their product, just give it a few years. 1st gen products always have teething problems that they will have to sort out.
The honest truth is that most local channels in the US are owned by big media companies such as Nexstar & Sinclair that care more about Retransmission Fees than actual viewers. Sad but true. PBS affiliates stream for free on the PBS App. NBC & CBS affiliates streams on Peacock & Paramount Plus on the higher priced plan. I have a feeling if the if there was a streaming service that had all local affiliate channels & paid Retransmission Fees it would probably cost $20-$30 a month which many people would consider expensive. A good outdoor antenna is the best way to receive local channels for free.
here in the UK you GOT to have a TV Licence to watch anything that is transmitted/broadcasted live..i think this is another way they are trying to catch people out with this?...

70 freeview uk channels is just repeats and repeats , had the 5 stations BBC 1 and 2 and off 1 channel 5 ,and 4.
If I use my vpn and set it to London, will it work?
Realizing now there’s a relevant detail I missed (which is a little weird to be honest). You can’t just download the Freely app. You have to purchase a TV that comes pre-installed with it. So far it’s just 2024 Hisense 4K TVs that were sold in the U.K.
So short answer… no.
