Your right! Actually we didn’t get any rain yesterday! Totally missed us!! We could do with 3 days worth then 4 weeks of 26 degrees + heat would be great!! 😂
If you are a farmer listen to what Gruff says. 110% on the money. Also plant your hedges around the fields with things like crab apple haw thorn etc There are tons of shrubs that will not effect your crops in any bad way. Trees of the legume family like Siberian Pea tree will help soil fertility and feed the bees. Bring in lots of pollinators for your crops.
I bought my first bees from BS Honeybees over 10 years ago now and it was a great way of getting into beekeeping with some very calm, healthy and hard working bees. I have occasionally bought queens from them since but I suppose that my bees are mainly a mix of local and completely uncontrolled genetics nowadays, including some quite feisty Welsh bee genetics of the Ceredigion version 😄
Just another good video from you. Here in Denmark, we are in the June Gap right now. No flowers due to no rain for the last 19 days, and we are looking on antoher 10 days without any rain. Clover is starting to Bloom, but the nectar is SO thick, that the bees don’t wanna collect it.
It is usually time, Lagrange for someone like Gruff. It is not that difficult to set up some starters and graft, but it takes some time and focus away from honey production
@@gwenyngruffydd I don't blame you Gruff. I have set up a separate apiary for grafting. The actual process is not that difficult but there are a lot of variances where things can go wrong. I just missed a virgin for the first 3 rounds which was of time. I think the biggest underestimation is the amount of time it takes to baby sit the grafts, transferring from starter into finisher, then setting mini nucs waiting for the queen to mate, making splits and transferring. Wow the process certainly takes a lot more time than I thought and there are a lot of opportunities to fail
You need rain bro!! I know you got some yesterday but I’ve never seen it looking so dry for wales!! Nice place for nucs!! 🙌🤓😎🐝🐝🐝

Well done Gruff, always look forward to seeing how your getting on👍
Thanks Chris 😊

Quality content from the Welsh Mic Dundee 🙂
Thank you 🤠
We were walking in the heather in the Conwy Valley yesterday, as dry as a bone up there. No rain in May.
We need a good few days of rain!
You are going big 💪
Trying to 😅💪🏻💪🏻
I’ve been on a search for plastic pallets without any luck in north wales.
Hope you get a few bales of that field
Crop was down massively. Try facebook marketplace for pallets 😊👍🏻

Hopefully the June gap won’t last long! 🤞🏻
Great video
Thank you 😊

Thank you, the rain totally missed us!!
@@gwenyngruffydd you should get lots of rain today🤞
You'll soon have to employ a beekeeper.
More than likely 😅
Do you raise your own queens? Saves money and its so satisfying :)

Not at the moment, we buy them all in

Absolutely!!
What do you think of use 5 frames hives as honey production hives?
Bit on the small side
I'm from Canada and I can't find anyone who sells those styrofoam hives
If you Google, poly hives in canada. You'll get a list off suppliers.
They'll be perfect for your climate.
Maybe there is a Lyson or honey paw dealer there?
@@gwenyngruffydd I'm sure honey paw cover north America.
