It only seems like the 'Friend of the Court' is advocating for the moms, when in fact they're really only interested in advocating for the court itself. The Family Court Industrial Complex is really only interested in racking up the dollar amounts on the non-custodial/higher paid parent so they may juice more TITLE IV-D money out of the federal government. In it's purist form, this is known as 'RACKETEERING' and is/should be against the law.

To be fair, you have to petition the court to have child support modified. You have to continue under the current order paying the monthly amount until the adjusted income can be reviewed in the formula and adjusted. That process can take 90 days or longer depending on the jurisdiction. In this case he did not know who to contact but I'm not sure how true that is. He was served and appeared so now he knows what to do....
Again- show up with an attorney. The fact is the father has the child in his custody and has been for a while. This mother absolutely needs to pay child support. How do you get a child support order for more then what you make
The order was based on what he was making in previous years, that amount was determined 2+ yeaes ago
