Our planet, is home to various kinds of life forms.
Although scientists have observed and classified around 1.2 million species of animals, it is estimated that there are approximately 8.7 million living animal species on earth,
with insects, being the most diverse animal group.
As of today, there are some 17,500 known species of butterflies in the world,
where they are placed in 6 different families.
Hesperiidae or Skippers, Lycaenidae or Blues and Hairstreaks, Nymphalidae or Brush-footed Butterflies, Papilionidae or Swallowtails, Pieridae or Whites and Sulphurs and Yellows, and Riodinidae or Metalmarks.
And among all of these different butterflies, the Monarch butterfly of the family Nymphalidae, is one of the most recognizable and well studied butterflies on the planet.
A fascinating species, with wonders that will leave you in awe.
