True. This kind of a comparative analysis could be beneficial in different ways - for buyers - cut down on time in decision making, for general viewers - quick update on the current scenario (actual brand positioning rather than conveyed) in the concerned price range, conveys transparency , clarity & decisiveness from content creator's side. Not needed for every product video since it might get repetitive, but for the ones that people are likely to be excited about. Something worth considering, or re-considering. :)
The only thing I still dont get is why you complain so much about “wireless” charging. Is not wireless, you still need to leave your phone pluged into a surface in order to get it charged. The only change is the interface, not the method.
kezneo-kun I understand, but it is not a feature that really gives you something extra. Thats my whole point, it is not wireless. You still need a wire connected to the base so you can put your phone there.
Yes! I don't understand why anyone makes a fuss over wireless charging. In my opinion it's even less practical than just using a long cord, because you can hold and use it in different positions rather than laying it flat on a pad. What is beneficial about that, other than maybe less cord replacements. Someday wireless charging will probably be truly useful, as in actually wireless. As it is now I have no desire to use it
wireless charging is like an iphone experience.... once you get used to it..... wired chargers looks as if they are a decade old..... also the pro version has a wireless 30W charging..... which is cool to have.... because when you use a phone for like 2-3 years.... the charging port often gets loosened... on the other hand.... wireless pads are not even touched that much.... hence they are also a lot more durable.....
my charging port on my s8 no longer works, so having wireless charging meant I just had to buy a new charger instead of forking over money to get it fixed.

Ha, that was the most subtly obvious telling OnePlus off that they've raised the price too much now and basically gone off their initial image and lost their selling point.
It's a concern alright. Those who want flash will get an iPhone or a flagship Samsung. They're not gonna save a few hundred bucks to get a brand that, while well known to us who follow these things, isn't really that well-known to the average RKOI.
@@ronch550 true, I've been a fan of OnePlus since the beginning but never have pulled the trigger. I'm gonna wait 6 months to see if they come out with the 8T and then decide. Dollar for dollar I still think OnePlus offers some of the best features around.
@@ronch550 you've hit the nail on the head. Here in Australia OnePlus doesn't officially sell, there are some online stores however. @@gamingpriests They can't compete against the major chinese brands like Xaiomi or Huawei or the like. They understand that there's no money in that area because there's too much competition. Also, Americans who are in that price range don't get obscure models like that, they just get something older, like a 1-2 year old iPhone on subsidy. So they have to go with the 1000 dollar phones so they can get some floor space in ATT/Tmobile/Verizon stores and push reps to buy. Otherwise they're just stuck with Amazon and they're not going to move serious units there.

One Plus 8 should've been priced around 550-600 at most and the Pro version around 800 $
@@gamingpriests lmao??? I'd buy the OnePlus 8 Pro over the S20 ANYDAY, Over the Pixel ANYDAY, over iPhone any fucking day dude. This phone beats any of those in every category.
I appreciate you calling out the insane pricing categories when it comes to buying new phones. Americans are used to buying the highest end phones because we can get them on contract and pay monthly, that’s the norm here. You don’t have to be rich to have the best phone. Doesn’t matter the price, they’ll be subsidized. Apple knew that and jacked up the prices for their high end phones and now their basic flagship phone, the regular 11, is entry level... at the price their high end phones were a few short years ago. I blame Apple for these insane prices (as I type this on a secondhand iPhone X). When it comes to phones, Apple sets the trend and everybody follows, including OnePlus. I’m hoping for a company to come along and buck that trend like I thought OnePlus was doing a few years ago.
I am from India, and here the Iphone 11 pro max starts from 1400$, where as it is 1100$ in the US. We don't have any contract option here. I am earning decent, but still I will have to save my entire 3 months of salary if I have to buy it. This is the reason, if anyone wants to buy a iphone here, other than the few very rich people, others mostly buys 2 iteration back i.e. people will be buying i phone x now(only rich people). This is why budget phones are so popular in this part of world. 150$-300$, more value for money.
Well throughout the years Apple has had better chips cameras and build quality than its competitors and we must also understand that they make everything their os their phone design their chips and all the apps on their os . Plus they provide a lot of updates for years and years . So all that costs a lot to Apple as well . So basically they end up being more of a service seller than a hardware seller . Look at oneplus here they just take stock os and appeal to people like mkbhd 🤣🤣.

Well, other products the same price or less have wireless charging
kezneo-kun I understand, but it is not a feature that really gives you something extra.

@@ronch550 you've hit the nail on the head.

Poco's sorta doing it.
Try Redmi K 30 pro...it's coming soon.
Realme and Xiaomi are on it
Well throughout the years Apple has had better chips cameras and build quality than its competitors and we must also understand that they make everything their os their phone design their chips and all the apps on their os . Plus they provide a lot of updates for years and years . So all that costs a lot to Apple as well . So basically they end up being more of a service seller than a hardware seller . Look at oneplus here they just take stock os and appeal to people like mkbhd 🤣🤣.
"Catches more fingerprints than the CSI agent of the month".... Nice!!!!
In India one plus 8 price - 550$
Including tax

When he said 'its not special anymore'
I died a little from inside
Are you emotional for a company? 😂
OnePlus is no longer what it used to be. Period. I think the new overall best phone is Pixel 3A, or iPhone SE.
Don't worry...
It's not 8 PRO though
@@JesseJamess I still think the oneplus 8 is better than the SE but the real competition from iPhone is the iPhone 11 at the same price. For android people the one plus is a better buy, but for apple heavy people the iPhone 11 might still be the better buy
@@JesseJamess pixel 3a? Seriously? Apart from amazing camera, the phone sucks. You can get overall better phone than that at 100$ lesser price
*drives an electric car* **takes a picture of a gas station** 🤣

Pro gamer move
"This thing catches more fingerprints then the CSI agent of the month"! Whaha
Maybe we should talk about Marques’s keyboard? He even printed it on himself
Egor Trubnikov Keychron K2. They're nice

"Super visible outdoors"
*2020 laughs from around the corner*
Excuse me, I'm quite new, what is "outdoors" ?
@ forbidden place never been there 5 years now
Marques saying *fast charger included in the box* hits different now.
Oneplus : "If you can't kill em, become em"
@Jurassic Mindset you don't want apple and OnePlus collaborating do you?
1:41 MKB! Is that a Devialet in the background?? And a matte black one at that?? Where's the review!!
it's a reactor, it comes in black now
Not only a Devialet but a working and sound pumping Devialet, look closer
Listening to Voices by 20syl. Excellent choice
Watching this on my 7T. First time in years I'm not interested in the new one. At that price I'd spent a couple of more bucks and buy a Samsung or a Pixel
Once an OxygenOS user, i don't know how you can go BACK to OneUI. But agree, i have the Oneplus 5, and still have no reason to upgrade. I'll give them a shot to convince me next year with the Oneplus 9 and they better make the pricing good. The Oneplus 8 is amazing but the price !!! From what i've read its due to the snapdragon 865. Even Xiaomi increased the price of their Mi lineup.
@@Shaddad_Gomid F*ck these BBK electronics and if you've got $899-$999 to spare on a phone wait for iphone 12 or get iphone 11 pro instead.
@@Shaddad_Gomid I love many specs on my 7T. The big 6.55 90hz flat screen, the UI of course bla bla bla. I bought it for a ridiculous bargain during November 2019 Black Friday ( 399 euros the 256g 7T). And that is very important. I cannot afford to buy a 700 or 800 euros phone, and it's been years I was in the starting blocks to buy a One Plus. Now, I'm afraid Marques is right. Their price is so high, I might not buy one from this brand anymore. And IF I had that kind of money, I would buy the best camera in a phone regardless of the UI.
Just bought this phone. New. One year after release. For 312 Euros. Thisis the only phone that would tick all the boxes at this price. Good thing about not so well known brands is that their price depreciates a lot. You get a decent phone, at a good price. They still keep google pixel 4a at 370 euros in Greece. After 1 year, no price reduction whatsoever
Ah, after so many years of Oneplus, since Oneplus 3, its time to move on. These prices are not justifiable in anyway. The difference between this and Oneplus 7T is not worth 200 dollars lol. What are they thinking.
Sd 865+ alone is upto 200$ more bucks than 855
7T or the 7T Pro is a better choice 😉
@@AkashKumar-sd7jx no, the actual chip price difference for the OEM is around 60$, you are over estimating the SOC costs.
@@rainbowisticfarts Yeah, and the price of Oneplus 8 pro in sweden is 1100 dollars compared to 840 dollars for 7t last year. That is actual madness. I used to laugh at my friends for buying Iphones in that price range, im not going to to continue with Oneplus as there are smaller companies making "flagship killers" right now while Oneplus became a flagship.
Broke: No longer special!
Woke: _Special no more!_
What is bespoke then ?
@
Special no more longer!
Meh im broke but i'll just buy the phones that i like a year later when the price drops. Like i did with 1+5t only 350 bux, got 120gb rom 8gb ram.
@@fynkozari9271 you may have missed the joke here, maybe you never heard of the "broke/woke/bespoke" meme before ?
It's a meme where it's 3 times the same idea, but said in an increasingly intellectual and convulted way.
The fact that this costs the same as an iPhone SE 2 + AirPods Pro + Wireless charger is nuts to me. C’mon OnePlus, you’re better than this!
ENDESGA Apple is teasing budget phones...their master strokes include Xr and now SE..
Isn't it above 999$ ? This is only 699$. (Most countries retail at this price)
If Qualcomm didn’t force 5g it would be $150 cheaper.
So, 2017 design, 2018 camera, 2019 cpu.
It is interesting how Apple is selling leftovers, and people think this is a big deal.
no, they are in for the money grab
Just looked at a bifold android phone for $2000. Nice review. I ended up buying Oneplus 8 5g UW locked to Verizon. The price was half what verizon was charging. Like new condition on Amazon for $375. Proud of the savings! Solid review here. I'm going to put the camera to the test. I'm excited about warp charge. Coming from Essential Phone Ph-1, everything is an upgrade
