@@Spiral-h6jThe big cinematic games are starting to look the same. Thankfully, they're doing Astro Not which looks awesome. For me, graphics aren't the most important, so I don't care myself.
Ah, the gross overexaggeration of someone who doesn't understand the argument. The argument made is that AAA studios and wannabe "epic" games focus so much on being cinematic experiences with the highest graphical advances available at the time end up sacrificing gameplay to achieve that level, meanwhile Nintendo games (and several other indie and lower budget titles) are more interested in the gameplay factor coupled with interesting art styles. No Nintendo fan will tell you graphics don't matter, they will tell you that graphics are secondary to the experience, contrary to what Sony fans tend to lead with, which is the graphical fidelity first and foremost. If we can have amazing gameplay coupled with great graphics, nobody would ever complain about it, except for people like you, strawmanning your "opponents."
Not me. I'll be constantly looking for clues, starting with the scenery itself, will will take my breath away, but I will always be looking and exploring with intention.
For me if the "Switch 2" make 2k on TV and 1080p on portable mode with 60 solid fps on almost all games for me the console its perfect...i dont think we need necessarely 4k to enjoy the beauty off the games
Metroid Prime 4: Beyond already looks absolutely jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Besides, all I care about is the quality of the gameplay in video games, and legendary game franchises like Metroid and Zelda consistently deliver on high quality gameplay. And as far as the famously named " Switch 2 " goes, the same logic applies there, the quality of its video game library is what's going to matter the MOST. Everything else comes afterwards.
Question: Will Last-Gen cartridges (Switch 1) receive visual/performance enhancements on Switch2/Attach? or would proprietary/New cartridges be the more desirable way to play 'em for a more evident advantage.
@fq4580whilst the fact that the Wii U used an HDMI cable rather than the basic composite RBY cables that came with the Wii improved it, it was hardly noticeable and so to say that it improved resolution is stretching it a bit. It's just a bit crisper but not by much.
@@ZackSNetwork *All Y'all* Thank you, Really. These are great points. Now I'm under the impression that backwards compatibility was a huge fan-demand, & Nintendo has obliged.
I think your expectations are a little bit to high man, I'm not a tech expert, but based on the specs leaked, I don't think we should expect 4K resolution and specially we shouldn't expect Ray Tracing, Ray Tracing is just not happening, just because the GPU can support, ot doesn't mean it has the power to do that, so no, there is not going to be ray tracing on any future Nintendo game, maybe they will put SSR, but that's about it. 4K is also not realistic for this kinda game, DLSS I think is very realistic for this console, so maybe we will see the game at 1080p, upscaled to make the image more sharp, but not quite the same quality as 4K. I feel like this is going to be a very simple port for the new console, a better resolution and more consistent frame rate.
Game Over in Breath of Fire 5: Dragon Quarter. Your character is possesed by the dragon god Ladon (iirc). Over time, his manephistation is growing inside you, as noted by the D-meter rising with every action you take. Let it hit 100% well, it should mean he's fully maniphested, right? Thats right, a full dragon. Inside you. Your character wreathes in agony, the background turns fully crimson red, your character is silloetted in black, and the Dragon God explodes out of your body as it comes to life.
I'n hoping prime 4 will be. a seitch game enhanced on the switch 2. Hopefully it's more like a new 3ds vs old 3ds thing and the switch 2 and switch will largely be compatible with newer games being enhanced (or eventually requiring) the switch 2.
The Switch 2 version will look better but the Switch 1 version is still the more impressive version to me. The fact that the game looks that insanely good for almost 10 year old hardware running at 60 fps is NOT EASY AT ALL. Getting a game to look this good at all is impressive, look at so much of the Switch’s other games, they look good, great even but this looks much better than pretty much anything else on the hardware. The PBR, materials, VFX, etc. look great and I don’t want to discount Retro’s incredible work here. Scrutinizing little details is fine of course but in the end for the most consumers the Switch 1 version still looks phenomenal for the hardware. Also there are some details like the quickly disintegrating bodies that are done even on much more powerful hardware to save resources, heck even Raytracing is hard to do while keeping 60 fps even on the most powerful consoles. Game development is a constant tug of war with how much can you get out of the engine and system before your performance starts to give. Currently Retro is handling that very well but we’ll see how far they go for the Switch 2 version.
I’d rather them keep the internal resolution fairly low on Switch 2, like 960p and use dlss quality mode to output to 1440p (higher output resolutions sacrifice more performance on dlss), then use most of the extra power for better graphical effects
How many people really care how reflective the water is, or how the grass looks in the wind? Are these features gamers should be clamoring to pay for? I would rather pay for games that are fun to play.
An honourable position but no one's forcing you to buy the new console whatever it does. Sounds like you're better off just keeping whatever you currently have as I'm sure there are tons of fun games you haven't played
@@VegaPhil Well, my take is actually more pragmatic than it may sound. If, as a consumer, the price I have to pay for shinier water and more flowing grass is longer development times and a bigger hole in my wallet, then I lost out in the transaction. I’m not resisting all forms of progress when it comes to graphics. I just want value for my time and money. My target for graphical output is probably 1080p and 30fps. Beyond that, the user experience falls off very quickly, and therefore the time/money spent to create the software was mostly wasted by the developer. Beyond that limit, I believe resources should be spent on game design and execution. Game design and fun come first by a country mile. A game with the best graphics ever can still be bad.
How do you think the upgrade system would work? I can’t imagine they would make you rebuy it for the upgrades, maybe it’ll work like Playstation does it ($10-20)
I kinda just think there will be 2 versions since im old school but ill admit it makes sense to also offer a paid upgrade option especially if there will be other cross gen games. As for pricing, i’d say 10 bucks at most. Its probably a $60 game on Switch, but maybe a $70 Switch game. That fee would balance it out.
I don't know why everyone assumes that there will be a Switch 2 version. Or that it will have improved backward compatibility. Most likely, none will happen.
Do we really want a hyper realistic Metroid? Sure it would look amazing but it could also be distracting you don’t want players losing focus by being distracted by flashy graphics.
I would prefer uncompressed native 1080p than an upscale 1440p imagine. Upscale images from a lower resolution never tend to look good and have too many blurry and soft textures.
I do find this kind of video to be potentially damaging. You are finding every small graphical fault with the, so far unfounded, idea that there will be a better looking version on the new console that fixes everything. I hope most people would take this as just a potential speculative take and not hold it against the game if this is the only version
Sadly I don’t have alot of faith that Prime 4 will sell too much better then Dread, infact it'll be a miracle if sells as much as Kirby & The Forgotten Land let alone reach Breath of the Wild level sales.
