Totally agree! Jason was the best for singing the "Thrash Metal" era of Metallica aka "Kill 'Em All", because from 1990, James voice became more of Heavy Metal style vocals
I always loved these bits where Jason sang complete verses or complete songs! Kinda gave the opportunity for James to just go and interact with the crowd. And it was overall really cool! Damn, wish they could pull this off with the current crew. Unfortunately Kirk and Robert are not quite built for that. I gotta add that, in 2003 when Kirk took over some of the backing vocals... I loved that. One for the team.
I miss Jason :( He was the first tallica bassist when i started listening to em, and he's, my fav for sure \m/ Cliff & Rob are also awesome though RIP Cliff, your legacy will live on!!!

I've never seen this. It's amazing they let ol Jason sing the whole song. Or turn up his bass. I love all era of this amazing band. But this rare spectacle is pretty rad. I love it.
Jason was the man to watch in live performances, and the low bass was just in and justice for all, in the other records and live performances the bass has a decent volume, and he used to sing at least one song per show, kill em all stuff. Shame what James did to him and the band itself.
I kinda notice....... James goes to kirk, Kirk goes to james, James goes to Lars, Kirk goes to lars, Nobody goes to Jason. - I saw Jason turn around as if to give Kirk some eye contact as he went by but Kirk acted like he didnt even see him there. Sadly I think Jason made a wise choice cuz I think they did shaft him most of the time & even being in the band Longer than Cliff they still treated him like the new guy. I think it hit them during some kind of Monster era & they started realizing what theyve done.
James said Jason was a better fit for whiplash, seek and destroy, 4 horsemen and a few other songs. And there was a time when James was repeatedly harming his vocal chords.
That is how The four horsemen sounded, When they were metal enough to sound raw, When Jason was still part of Metallica, when lars was better drummer than my grand mother, and when Spider Man was just a movie character not a bass player ...
Rythm Guitar Vocals - James Hetfield
Drum - Lars Ulrich

One of the most badass and intense bassists/backup vocalists of all time.
Charles Varndell absolutely, even he sings backup his voice is louder than James lol
David Ellifson
True. They shouldnt let him go.
THE most intense and awesome bassists and backing vocals ever, he has such passion
That's why Jason must back to Metallica 🤟
he sounds like he's just came out of hell and wants to get back in as soon as possible.

Frosty videos rasp is the stuff in James voice, it feels like muddy grit, the vocal style popularised by none other than Lemmy Kilmister

JORGE HERNANDEZ Rob is an amazing bass player, but to me Jason is more "Metallica"
Rob is NOT an amazing bass player. He is sloppy as fuck. He just eq's up the bass to drown out his sloppiness.
ItsAllAboutGuitar what do you mean he’s not an amazing player? He’s great but not a fit for Metallica he’s definitely wasting his talent with them
