jessi's vids are always the best...you can tell she is enjoying herself and she knows how to get the point across ...
Awesome to see the little Jessi in this awesome giant truck. She is, as always, just PERFECT !!!
Me too! More drifting to come!
Jessi
Great episode. Jessi takes it serious but has a lot of fun and makes the show fun to watch...
I love the Raptor. I'm a Ford girl. I'll admit it. I love the looks of the truck, the fact that it's a truck, and the off road capability of it makes it even more awesome. I would love a Raptor. Dream truck.
Love Jessi as a presenter, so enthusiastic!
0:51 that laugh always gets me :). You have one of my favorite laughs Jessi.
Yeah, another Jessi video on friday. Great way to start the day.
So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for letting us know!
Jessi
Raptor School? Rawr.
Jessi, i like your videos because besides everything, you love what you are doing, and i can see that you are really excited and having fun, thats amazing.
Jessi is such a great host for these series.
You got it.
Jessi
If the next F150 is going to be 500-700 lbs lighter, I can only IMAGE how much better it'll be than this already awesome truck. GREAT job Ford. AMMEERRCAA!
Sounds like a school I would LOVE to attend!
Jesse, you are by far the coolest person ever! :P I love your reactions with the Raptor :p Looked fun!!
There were two trucks used for filming on the rock crawling course, becuase they had different tires. One had the stock BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires and the other had BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain tires. The one Jessi said she used all day was the one with the mud tires.
LOVE THIS TRUCK SO MUCH!
Jessi you should let me join you on one of these trips. Looks like tons of fun. I would love to go and do these events with these amazing cars like you do.
Well all know you wrap your thumbs around the wheel while off-roading.
That rock crawling was super intense too.
i love it when they come to Utah, represent!
"Everything about it pushes you to defy authority!"
The best line of the whole video.
Thanks for the feedback. We'll see what we can do...
Jessi
Not that she ever looks bad, but Jessi looked particularly fine in this episode. Also, Raptor school looks fun.
Great description; that's exactly how I felt!
Jessi
i do gotta agree with some of the comments i see, asmuch as i enjoy seeing jesse and listening to her talk about cars i would of loved to see her drive more and hear that beautiful ford engine, still, not a bad video.
Awesome video Jessi! cool blouse
JT, nice video, actually would love to get myself and GF into this course for a day, looks like a lot of fun!
I had the chance to go to this school and passed it up. SOB, I could've met Jessi.
Great episode!!!!!
Jessi to The Baja!:)
ok I'm 39 and a yankee from the north, but back in 1996 I took my 1992 F-150 (modified with a 4"lift bigger tires, suspension etc) over some inclines that way exceeded this course. We made a game of it in MA "try to get to the party with your vehicle" which included huge unknown ascents and descents, you needed an assist person on the ground because it was night. Jessie come on this isn't offroading and Ford stop worrying about lawsuits.
this is the coolest truck on the road. If I didn't hvae a high mortgage I would so buy one tomorrow.
WOW! GREAT VIDEO
Looks like fun. I own a 2012 Raptor and it is a blast. Now for all you 4x4 guys, my Rubicon could out 4x4 the Raptor but the Raptor is much more comfortable at high speeds and it loves go jump. You got to take it for what it is and stop being so jealous. I am a GM guy through and through but they just don't have anything that compares, sorry.
Flynmid... You're probably correct that some regular trucks may not have the ground clearance for the initial climb because so many have tried to make their trucks more car like to appeal to the city dweller that only hauls light loads once in a while; however, throw a real truck in there like a 2500 ram (or several others that stick to the real truck code)that is made for work, and they will walk all over this coarse with no problem.
i when on the ride along there... it was great!
Now that is awesome
BEST JOB EVER
she dont even sound like she was having fun like she did a jump *after jump* just a little giggle if that was me id would of be like wooooo!!! with the biggest smile on my face
Looks pretty tame. I probably could have done that in any random truck, even a 2wd.
i'd love one of those just to go through my school parking lot...
Do I detect that you like to do it in the dirt Jessie? Get your mind out of the gutter! =D Next you should try some winter rally racing! Ford are you listening?
Definitely would be my future ride
For this truck to have so much hype has it won any trophies or competitions
dream truck
thats one badass truck
I have feeling Ford is going to give her a Raptor for Christmas
there's a school for that?! SIGN ME UP!
Jessi, are you an angel?
im a Chevy guy but with the ford raptor i think i changed my mind go ford tough
i thinkn this was the miller motorsports school in tooella UT. i think
lets see a wrx sti on that off road course!
Yep good, I think you're getting it. Way to argue back at me what I've been telling you for the past 3 weeks or so.
A simple "thankyou for schooling me" wouldn't go amiss, but whatever...
an STI or EVO on that track would be so much fun.. except the climbing..
Thats built ford tough !
They call that rock crawling wow. Could have done that in a wrx lol. Come on motortrend lets see some real crawling!
Sadly, Ford stopped production of the Ranger in the US. It is newly designed, in a diesel only engine, not for sale in the US. It was competing against the F-150, so they cut it.
I would also ask - at the top of the hillclimb did you get out and check the road ahead? Even if somebody is guiding you, if you go in blind you have no idea what you're driving into. I'd be surprised and disappointed if they didn't go through the basics of walking the track and picking your driving line before entering an obstacle.
wow corners and steep inclines :O
I want one too. I wish they made a Diesel Raptor.
Good point.
You should see our version of offroad in Kuwait. It's better in KSA since there is way more sand there,Better way to test the 4 wheel drive ;)
That track looks like a gravel rosd around here.
Jessi + Raptor = Kid in a vehicular candy store \=-)
I enjoy watching Jessi's vids and I won't knock the truck, but I have to say... I don't think this qualifies as "intensive off-roading techniques" or a "white knuckle rock crawling course", nor does it come close to testing the 4WD capability of a truck like that. Even Freiburger and Finnegan did the same (minus hill climb) in a Dodge van and a Buick wagon on Roadkill.
Put a winch on that Raptor and some recovery gear in the tray and find somewhere to see what it can really do...
Over 25 mph on the whoops -- whoopsie! Tee hee!
@exiledrabbit yeah you are the only one!
yep she's nice, I need the truck more, my Chevy's got 225 k miles on it, not sure how many more the 6.0L has left in it, so far so good though.
the tires they used in this test are not the stock tires the raptor is a baja ready truck
Wow dirt roads, super extreme..
exactly !
Jessi you can afford one of these easily. Just go buy it.
You don't need to "beat the piss out of the trucks" to test their off-road capability. I've seen tougher fire break tracks through the middle of forestry plantations than the "roads" they were driving on... Besides, dry weather and wet weather are two different beasts for 4WDing. Out in the desert in the dry and on the flats are one thing, but trying to climb a rutted mountain track in clay soil in the pouring rain... still on a "road" but a world away from what was done on this video.
2:23 isnt the same truck as 2:27 look at the tires. BFG all terains first, and then BFG mud terrains
yeah it prob cant stand up to custom CJ's and such, but i mean ford calls it a Baja Truck thats street legal so as a baja truck its top notch
So, will it be possible to get the 6.7 Powerstroke Turbo Diesel on the Raptor?
hey jessi or motor trend hoping you could answer this please. I have a raptor as well, but had a question regarding the setting you used on the 900 acre desert section. im curious as to what the raptor technicians recommended in regards to 2wd vs 4wd and if you had the traction control in sport mode or all the way off. from my understanding the best way to go is 2wd locked differential with traction control completely off for mobbing in the desert. is this what you were using? thanks
2:24 for the all terrains
how come a fancy truck like that doesn't come with dual pipes, one on each side or out the back?
i was looking at one the other day. if Ford made one thaat was a regular cab short bed, that;d be the one i'd want. PS: $46,000 is a little high of a price.
what do you mean the next? 2013 models? those are out already...
I'm bored now and over it.... Moving on with life
They need to put the Ecoboost V6 in this.
shit i do this on a daily basis getting out of my driveway !
Hahahahahahahahah
You read my mind, sonottiny. Only reason i watched the whole vid was because i was hoping something interesting would happen. The whole thing bored me to tears.
Of course you'd save money, you could get a used F-150 and do this. I assume the experience would be different in the Tundra though because the Tundra wouldn't be tuned for such abuse. Probably would be the same with a regular F-150. The SVT Raptor is just made for this. Also, no, I am pretty sure that this engine would keep going and going. Most of the strongest and longest lasting American engines are in American trucks after all.
looool wa7sh wala!!!
Wow.....
Looks like the GM guys who`ve posted a comment here about the Raptor are very jealous and envious.
The 2013 GMC All Terrain?
As always, Ford trucks lead and GM trucks follow.
Started with the Lighting and GM came out with the 454 SS. LOL Late to the party again GM but 2nd place is ok.
Now, after the Raptor has been out for almost 4 years with much development and refinement, GM, as usual, is late to the party again. LOL.........
Someone has to come in 2nd place though.
I love the Ford Raptor and everything, but I'm pretty sure any Subaru or even my Toyota Camry could've done that course. Give it some real offroading!
@whatthedouch
You just said that the Ranger was competing with the F-150. What are you smoking? The Ranger was as ancient as the Ten Commandments, it wasn't anything like the F-150.
@Josh Frost what part of utah cause I'm from there and i would love to go there.
Jesse i wanna see you practice drifting again
Amen
anyone notice that the tires kept switching between bfg mud terrains and bfg all terrains?
It's a training course, chill out, guys!
It's a class. Plus I'm sure they wouldn't want some guy wrecking a rather expensive truck. So if that annoys you please feel free to go buy a raptor or an equivalent vehicle and go do what you want. Just don't be upset when you can't demand your money back from Ford or your equivalent vehicle's dealer/previous owner if you wreck it going balls out. Just sayin'
thanks a ton! it's probably not public but..
Hey Jessi! Do you still do car reviews on Roadfly TV?
I Don`t like ford but even I know the Raptor can handle WAY more then that. This is not testing its limits
