I live 20 minutes from the Fern hollow bridge and have crossed it many many many times in my life we are so lucky no one was killed thank God for the snow that slowed everybody up that morning
To those that don't realize the infrastructure bill was only 5% of money to fix bridges and highway the rest went into stuff not needed that is why it was voted against.... and plus like every other time states were given money to fix roads and bridges either some were fixed or none at all....
@@tomservo5007 I always round high ..plus that's would include more than just roads... airports...power grid... water treatment..etc. The only thing i can guarantee is that the NTSB report on this will be very interesting..

No, this is filler released to news outlets to be added to the news report. That is why it is called B roll. A roll is the main report that the news station generates .
You all should of been inspecting the bridge like that before the dame thing collapsed maybe you could of caught the problem but now you are going to inspect it once it is on the ground
See all that brown stuff? Yea. Its called rust. Poor maintenance by Pittsburgh officials. I know, I know...you had to buy housing for all the new undocumented immigrants and couldn't afford to inspect every bridge. Let alone fix the issue when and if you found it.
Repairs and maintenance require money. If money the city was going to use on bridges is diverted by congress to the state police, then the city can't use it to repair a bridge. It is out of the city's control. Also, the housing is not specifically for undocumented immigrants. It's for low income families. There are plenty of low income, US Citizens that need housing too...

If 4.2 billion in PA gas tax money earmarked by our state constitution for bridge and road repair wasn't pilfered by the grey costume wearing parasites of the PA state police, this collapse could have been prevented.
NTSB rocks... the go team gets UNDER a compromised structure... they are more than WONDERFUL! thanks for all you do!

The snow load and slow traffic may well have pushed it over the edge. Looking forward to the NTSB report.
$4.2 billion in PA gas tax money that was earmarked for bridge repair instead ended up funding the PA State Police. This didn't need to happen :(
Where can we research this point?
@@azmike3572 Easy, just type "$4.2 billion in gas taxes diverted to state police" into your favorite search engine.
send a piece of the bridge to every House member who voted against the infrastructure bill
10 % infrastructure... ...so send only 10% to them and the rest to those that voted yea.
Oh wait...you forgot to read the bill.

This would be a very cool job 👍🏼
Thanks for sharing.
I smell a big fat lawsuit brewing with PennDOT as exhibit A
they will pay more out in lawsuits than any bridge would have cost. Dumb Pa.
A skydio drone can maybe map the entire bridge autonomously.
Esrthquake in that area?????
Nope. Structural failure.
But they got their masks on. Unreal!

Go figure huh?
another NTSB silent film .. at least put in some mime actors to explain what's their doing ...
Maybe NTSB should spend time inspecting bridges and not uploading UA-cam video, it’s no wonder stuff is falling apart at alarming rate in our country.
That is the DOT’s job.
Stuff is falling apart because the Republicans have been hell bent for the last couple of decades of not investing a cent towards infrastructure.

Ironic how the big guy was in town to push his infrastructure deal. Our president should be in a nursing home. It's very unfortunate. Poor thing.
