So some info about the characters to help you out (some slight spoilers, not any heavy ones but keep this in mind)…
•The character you hyped up only to see “die” is the player character from the game Hollow Knight and when encountering Frisk in the animation they actually did die but respawned at a bench which’s acts as a checkpoint for the player, the shadow looking character is essentially a ghost of the player’s previous life that the player after respawning must defeat in order to regain their lost MP & Currency.
•Madeline is the player in the game Celeste who has depression and anxiety who aims to climb Mount Celeste, this is why she uses abilities like dashing and wall climbing as seen in the animation.
•Frisk is the player character from the game Undertale who can go through with different routes depending on the player’s choices (pacifist, neutral, genocide) and in the animation, it takes place apparently during a playthrough of the genocide route, essentially not only killing every character you encounter but also deliberately grinding and searching and killing *everything* which increases their LV (increasing their power), and in the animation they are already at LV 19/20 (you only see LV20 in the ending scene so LV19 is the maximum possible LV the player can get) which means that they are possibly the most powerful being in the game being able to 1-shot any character in the game in 1 attack (which is why they are not only dealing so much damage in the animation, but also having a lot of HP and deliberately searching for characters to fight). The game also talks a lot about being filled with determination which is why in the animation Frisk is so determined on killing the drone that they keep on attacking them despite being on the verge of death as if some kind of lifeless husk.
•Shovel Knight from the game… Shovel Knight… is a knight who was trying to save Shield Knight (the character who saved him in the intro of the animation) by some enchantress and can use relicts to use extra attacks as seen in the animation with, for example, the Magic Wand he uses against the drone to shoot a fireball. The shovel he uses is called the Shovel Blade and can act as both a shovel and a blade.
•Cuphead is a player character from a cartoon world where he went to The Devil’s casino and was on a winning streak only for the Devil himself appearing and raising the stakes of the next roll giving all the loot in the casino or he has their souls, Cuphead against his brother’s wishes rolls and loses which leads to The Devil now owning their souls, the brothers in a plea try to repay him to which he says if he catches some runnaway debtors he’ll let them go to which the two agree to. Elder Kettle, the one watching over the two, grants them a potion to be able to fight back which grants the two magical abilities (which is why Cuphead is seen shooting bullets from his fingertips), over the course of the game the player can become more powerful and gain new abilities for new types of shots or quirks or even Special moves (powerful moves you can do if you have maximum EX points gained/charged in a battle).

Shovel Knight also somehow beat Kratos, which was confirmed canon by both game teams, of GOW and Shovel Knight, he could probably beat Frisk as well if we are being honest.

@@randomyoutuber2633 i don't want to start an argument here, but having played both shovel knight and undertale there is no way the dude is beating Frisk. Other than one-shotting every enemy they encounter they can also canonically come back to life every time they die through determination.
@@idk-cj8mn Kratos literally has infinite speed and strength, can steal souls and kill gods, including the God of death and the God of the underworld, has reality warping with hope, which is basically just determination from Undertale, and way more, so honestly, scaling alone, makes me think Shovel Knight wins that one, and plus, Frisk needs to land a hit on him to one shot, Shovel Knight can just burrow underground and escape if he is about to be hit, and jump on Frisk's head.

Not that I disagree, but Underverse requires a *ton* of outside knowledge to enjoy in its entirety. It's very much _not_ "beginner friendly".

I’m gonna give a little bit of information regarding a couple of the characters you don’t seem to know… except Madeline and… Purple Madeline? I don’t know anything about them aside from the fact that they’re from Celeste. I’ll keep this as spoiler free as possible, and the most I’ll talk about is the general plot or abilities you already see here.
Shovel Knight: the shovel he wields is actually a weapon called the Shovel Blade. It’s both a blade and a shovel, if you couldn’t gather that from the name. Basically, his whole story was that he was trying to save Shield Knight (the other character you see with SK in the intro) from the clutches of the Enchantress, and had to defeat the Order of no Quarter, a group of knights that are contracted to work for the Enchantress, in order to do so. The magic wand, propeller dagger he uses to safely get down to Cuphead, and other weapons are called Relics, which act as secondary abilities for SK.
Frisk: Frisk is the main character from Undertale. In Undertale, there are three different routes you can go down to get three different endings. These routes are called the Neutral, Pacifist, and Genocide routes. The version of Frisk used in this animation is the one from the Genocide route. I won’t get into too much detail here, but the Genocide route is basically the bad ending of Undertale, where the player is basically the villain. The large amount of damage you see Frisk deal is a result of them leveling up to level 19 combined with their powerful determination… and yes, determination is a genuine power in Undertale.
The Knight: The Knight is the nameless main character of Hollow Knight. The game is actually named after the boss you see The Knight fighting before they chase after their shade. Going into lore would be spoilers in it and of itself, considering that you have to go out of your way to find it in the game. But basically, The Knight “survived” Frisks powerful attack because of a bench. When you rest on a bench in Hollow Knight, it acts like a checkpoint. When you die, you produce a shade, which holds the geo you had previously (geo is the in game currency), and some of your soul meter is broken (soul is basically your MP/Mana, and having soul allows you to use skills that aren’t your basic slash). You regain lost soul/geo by killing your shade, but if you die again before getting your shade back, you lose the geo that the previous shade had.
the little I can remember from Celeste is that you play as Madeline who decided to go on a hike on mount Celeste to cope with life problems or something
I played the game a long time ago and never finished so sorry if my explanation is not accurate, just what I kinda remember from the story plot

@@error404stan in very simple terms, they are a magic alter ego that represents Madeline's self doubts and anxieties. Also magically a real person cause the mountain has magic properties.
Some of what i said might not even be right but thats my interpretation.
