Its an Amazing Machine.. MG has been a trendsetter on making things new all around.. This is close to a perfect car technically.. 8 speed CVT should minimalize the rubberband effect efficiently.. You covered all the points very well. I went for a test drive as it checked all boxes I had.. unfortunately I found the car's sunroof shade very light. There is a lot of light inside and I literally had sunrays and shadows inside the car. Simply won't work for our heat 🙂

Rear glass area could have been slightly bigger, looks like a hatchback from the rear due to the small glass area and also please ensure good lighting while showing the boot.

Well detailed review as always!! I also checked out the Astor at the showroom but did not get to drive it. I felt the front and rear overhangs of the Astor were a bit high. Did u find it affecting the approach and departure angles or turning circle?

The fact is these are Pseudo SUV's or Crossovers. This are SAIC's Global engines and are reliable which is powering numerous cars in China. China is a market with Petrol cars as Diesel Cars are pretty rare.

I have decided a budget of 15 Lakh and started looking for compact SUV. Kia Sonet was my choice untill unless I get inside a Astor. Everything is attracting. Sonet and Astor. I'm stuck between this two. Need help from you people here. Sonet is 1 litre turbo IMT. And Astor is 1.5 NA ( read some negative reviews about Manual 1.5 NA. Slow pickup is what the myth is. On road price of sonet is 15L & onroad price of Astor manual top end is 17L. What should I do ? If anyone know about both car. Can you let me know. I love aesthetics and feel about the car and i drive only in city. So IMT helps in sonet and it's compact to drive around city and its cute. But Astor attracts in other ways (Panaromic, leather premium interiors, extra comfort because of extra 1 feet length) Which side should i lean on ? My opinion Hi Motowagon team Did you notice that sunroof curtain is very thin in Astor as compared to other sunroof SUVs So lot of sunlight enters the cabin Lot of sunrays filter into the cabin The curtain is like transparent It will be annoying in bright sunny day
Yes, Since it's a Panaromic Glass roof a roller type perforated curtain is used instead of the pad Type in regular Sun roofs. Yes, there is excessive light inside the cabin. Can fix an extra suncool to fix the heat it it's kind of annoying

I have decided a budget of 15 Lakh and started looking for compact SUV. Kia Sonet was my choice untill unless I get inside a Astor. Everything is attracting. Sonet and Astor. I'm stuck between this two. Need help from you people here.
Sonet is 1 litre turbo IMT. And Astor is 1.5 NA ( read some negative reviews about Manual 1.5 NA. Slow pickup is what the myth is.
On road price of sonet is 15L & onroad price of Astor manual top end is 17L.
What should I do ? If anyone know about both car. Can you let me know. I love aesthetics and feel about the car and i drive only in city. So IMT helps in sonet and it's compact to drive around city and its cute. But Astor attracts in other ways (Panaromic, leather premium interiors, extra comfort because of extra 1 feet length)

Did you notice that sunroof curtain is very thin in Astor as compared to other sunroof SUVs
So lot of sunlight enters the cabin

The curtain is like transparent

Yes, Since it's a Panaromic Glass roof a roller type perforated curtain is used instead of the pad Type in regular Sun roofs. Yes, there is excessive light inside the cabin.
Can fix an extra suncool to fix the heat it it's kind of annoying
