Great choice. Unfortunately the "opera dictatorship" and a silly statement of Verdi about Italian vocal music primacy threw shadow and obscurity onto romantic and postromantic Italian instrumental music.Obviously we can't compete with German area in instrumental music of xix and xx century but we've quite some good music whose knowledge is worth. Sgambati is one. And he was very prolific too.
The composer has good talent. Romantic harmonies for prelude and fugue is absolutely fine. However, the “epic” character of the piece was filled with some discursive materials and therefore sounded a little rambling. Put it simply, it could be more concisely written. The composer could have done all 24 keys in the manner of J. S. Bach.
0:09 Allegro ma non troppo.
4:24 Fugue - Andante sostenuto.
Underrated masterpiece.
I love the rumble the beginning produces to emphasize the minor melody, that lower register playing is fantastic
Just unbelievably beautiful. Not to mention unfathomably difficult.
Bellissima composizione!
Beautiful.
This is quite agreeable.
I quite agree.
I very much agree as well, yes.
An agreement decree I concur with aswell, yes yes.
@@composerdavidgiannivaldez367 -- I SEE you....and I RAISE you! The Motion CARRIES!!! Bravo from San Agustinillo!!

I think his two symphonies are great - particularly the 1st for which the Naxos recording is outstanding
Phenomenal! I am very much hearing the groundwork for Rachmaninov here. 🌹
Quick question: How does one pronounce “Gsarci?”
"gee-sar-see". :)
Thx
