For anyone interested, google actually has an official DIY repair manual for download... has some pretty helpful info, I just realized that I need a Screwdriver Hex Shank Torx Plus Bit no.3 for those little screws

Google's devices are actually pretty underrated when it comes to reparability, although it should be waaaay easier to replace batteries and other wear parts

It is possible but the thing is you cannot find a battery like that. Most of them are false advertisements

What kind of device do you use to heat the phone? Would a hairdryer do the job?

Yes it will too. But needs patients and process should be gentle

Is it a good idea to use 99% isopropyl under the battery to remove the glue?

Since the screen is taken out that is fine. otherwise i do not recommend to use isopropyl alcohol without any experience. Just use little as you want to remove the battery

Thank you for the guide. I managed to lose the screw next to the display connector. I think it was a bit shorter than the 8 other screws. Do you know what sized screw that actually is?

Sorry, I’m not sure. There are screw kits. Cost is about $1-2
