This is the kind of crowd that we need at concerts, not too many people, relatively small stage and no screaming fans. Artists should have more acoustic concerts where the audience can enjoy the music and hear every word without the deafening speakers too 👐🏼
+Katherine Neill Yes. I really enjoy Justin Bieber's music and his voice is incredible, but I'll never go to a live show of his because it'd just be screaming girls and I wouldn't be able to enjoy his voice. These types of shows are the best. I wish all artists had shows like this and had like an age restriction of like 18 and over lmao.

Never listened to Taylor until my wife started playing her music on speakerphone after we got married. I don't dig all of her stuff, but damn is she talented. This is 100% my favorite version of my favorite song of Ms. Swift. She deserves all the money and accolades she's been given.
Totally. I discovered her music about a year ago. I'm a musician, and her sense of melody and song writing blows me away. Not only is she an outstanding composing musician, she's also got real stage presence and has become a brilliant performer, whether just with a guitar or piano, or full backing band and dancers. In an era of a lot of manufactured music, Taylor strikes me as being the EXACT opposite, and I simply can't understand all her detractors. I'm 48, so hardly the usual "Swiftie" demographic, but she's the only modern mainstream musician who can really move me.
@@zx7-rr486 well said. I can’t name many songs by her. My partner listens to her. But damn is she talented though. Her performance with dancers etc shows are insane production
Watching her perform this live, almost like the guitar is playing a character of its own. I feel like this version is much more melancholy than the studio version. It definitely sounds more bittersweet. Taylor can sing. But even more important than that, she is not just a singer. She also has an amazing gift with words
Because it is actually such a sad song! Taylor said in one of her interviews that this song wasn't about anyone in particular. She had become so cynical about her relationships that even when she would have just started dating someone, her first thought would be "oh how long will this go?". So even before facing any hurdles or difficulties, she had resigned herself to the fact that the relationship wouldn't work regardless. I love the song more after hearing about this :(
I admire how she successfully blends in any emotion she is trying to convey in her songs. Like let it be anxiety, sadness, pain, happiness or in this case, drama. She does it so well!
I'm a 65 year old guy who spent about 37 years running concert halls, booking national acts and managing the shows themselves. While I seldom appreciate very young pop acts (which is OK because I'm not their target audience...) I've become totally impressed with Ms. Swift. The original recording of this song knocked me out, I thought it was simply gorgeous. Her stripped down performance here is equally impressive. To her grey haired detractors I'd say shut up and listen to her. This lady is the real deal. Intelligent, great pipes, evocative... she'll be around thirty years from now.
Simple dressing, red lipstick, no band or background kareoke, no autotone, just her and her guitar and she entertained us so much... Gosh! Taylor you rock!
This version really hits different. Not only does she sound incredible but there's something so much more emotional about this. I can really relate to this song.
Outstanding performance! Fantastic range for low to high and great use of a beautiful tone and vocal agility in and out of registers and so emotive!!! She is such an underrated vocalist!!! Her records and concert attendance really shows how amazing she is!!!
+Maria b13 I would not count clean as an acoustic number. However I'll give you Love Story... and no, it was either a 1989 bonus track OR a throwback song, not both. so I stick with what I said, ONE acoustic number (aka one song with the guitar) lol
2:40 - "Some day when you leave me I bet these memories follow you around" "Say you'll remember me.." Shivers down my spine, so evocative, just incredible.
Olly Shaw why does Taylor writes songs that sound like if u leave me u WILL regret it? Like I’m better then anybody else? That’s what the lyric for wildest dreams means.
@@sarahburkett4790 she means that when they part ways, those blissful memories would always be there because of how beautiful they were, and they both knew that.
when you strip back her pop songs, they're so similar to her old songs... she still has roots, she just adds an 80s backs and vocal effects and different instruments.
For some reason, lots of people love experiencing her outdoor stadium spectaculars from 400 feet away with 50,000 of their closest friends, but I'd rather see her just like this, singing on a simple little stage, ten or fifteen feet away, all by herself with just a guitar, a banjo, a piano, and a microphone. What a great performance.
Laughing Gravy I agree, but the reason that I enjoy stadium performances is that I’m not necessarily close to a venue where she would be doing something like this, nor would I necessarily have the money, as I have no idea how much it costs. Either way you would get to see her perform which is really what matters.
Same. I like performances when it's simple without booming music, a backtrack louder than the actual singer, and flashing lights blinding me. I sometimes just wanna hear the performer sing live without anything covering it, but that rarely happens.
@@naritruwireve1381 taylor always has a part in her shows where it's just her voice and her playing guitar! I personally find the show she puts up very enjoyable!
most of the artists today are being over powered by their own instruments and choreography sometimes its just nice to listen to these kind of songs that showcased their voice beautifully
ya, i hear it a little bit too when she hits some of the higher notes. but still, pitch correction doesn't do much if you don't already have an incredible voice, which she does
So what? Everyone uses pitch correction, now. You'd be stupid not to use it, when it's available for only a couple hundred. If she didn't use it, you wouldn't be praising her courage, you'd be slagging her off for being 1/10 halftone off key.
born with a true talent omg i love her sm. 1. she’s unproblematic 2. she’s SO sweet especially to her fans 3. she’s SUPER talented imo i like this version more than the og:)
@@taylorswiftsfittie4492 there only expensive because did you see how much her concerts would have costed for her to make them. The stage, the screens, the fog, dancers, etc.
I remember when Taylor Swift said that when she write a song, with the lyrics, the feeling and the melody in mind, hoping the no matter what production she added to the top of it, whether it took a turn for pop, or acoustic or whatever. She always wanted for a song to be able to be stripped back down and still be something that her fans liked and wanted to sing at the top of their lungs. And I think that's so beautiful ❤
I go back and forth between this live version of Wildest Dreams and Daylight in Paris as my all-time favorites. It's like attempting to pick your favorite child. Impossible.
Adriano Both are accomplished artists, but does Beyonce write her own music? Does she play at least 4 instruments? Did she begin writing music at the age of 12? Does she produce her own albums or write music for other artists? Was she the youngest ever recipient of a Grammy award? Does she have her own award named after her? I don't think so.
This, according to me is one of her best performances. It's so raw and beautiful :) ALSO CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW THIS IS SO PERFECT THOUGH ITS LIVE. Also her vocal range is so impressive though she's singing live 😭
+SwiftieRunner Actually it's the other way around, she starts off playing songs on the piano or guitar and then later turns it into a pop sounding song with her producers help
I'm too old to be a swiftie, never purchased a TS song, or watched her concert film, but I can recognize her authenticity and talent. When you're alone onstage with an instrument and a mic performing your own material, there's no faking it.
taylor is one of the most sweetest people on the planet. the media portrays her so poorly its sad. she doesnt deserve the hate she gets. people who say she cant sing, please go to the 99cent store and get some cotton swabs to clean out your ears. not that hard.
So many singers can't sing live. They sound amazing in their music videos but live they can't sing for life..... Taylor can sing live. Her voice LIVE is literally the same as her voice in her music videos. The girl really can sing well. Love her ❤
I came to see what all the fuss is about and now I kinda wish I never did cause shes actually great. Not a fan of massive over the top concerts and the absurd outfits. But if the biggest pop star actually plays guitar and makes such a wholesome down to earth performance, I say its great
Petition for Taylor to make an entire album consisting only of stripped down songs Edit: One year since i commented and now we got folklore 😭😭😭 never had a wish come true like this
How I wish! Did you mean her recording previous hits acoustically? Sadly she doesn't own full rights to her past masters. But our wish is a possible for HER future projects and new songs under UMG 😁
Honestly just the fact that she writes her own music and plays the instrument makes her better than most pop stars. *Her voice is just an added bonus.*
I watched this 20 times now, and I still get goosebumps. Her voice and her acoustic ability is freaking amazing. Anyone who says that this woman is untalented or can't sing is lying or jealous.
I’ll never understand how people say this woman can’t sing. This performance alone should confirm that. She’s a brilliant performer and songwriter. Even if you don’t like her music you can’t deny her talent.
In all fairness.. her voice is her weak point.. the audio on this performance has gone through post production and cleaned up and it’s still not the sharpest..
@@sarak2681 because you can hear it.. for example there is 0 room noise which would suggest they did some noise removal (only speculating this one)… but it’s obvious the audio has been compressed because the louder notes don’t actually register as being significantly louder than the quieter parts, which suggest the audio has been compressed.. plus the guitar and voice are perfectly mixed and don’t even almost clash with each other which means it’s been equalized.. and the vocals come across too clear.. even if they didn’t use any pitch correction on her voice it’s obvious it’s gone thru post production simply by how clear it is. Sound engineers are employed for a reason.. if audio naturally came across this clear there would never be any need for them.
@@Keithjames153 yes. Once you know, you can't un-hear the compression, the noise gate, and the carefully applied reverb that changes constantly. Now, this could have been done live, but probably not. actually, these effects could have been applied both live and post. in any event, these are not "dry" vocals.
She is one of the few singers who's voice is as same live as in the original song... Seriously even without the effects on her voice her voice is still amazing!!
I hate to spoil it for you, but there's real time post processing of her voice. That is to say, in popular slang, it's autotunes in real time from the mic feed. You can spot this if you just listen her hold a note. There's no perturbation that's normally present in human voice as it's been fixed.
@@TactileCoder I agree, there might be some post production that had been made in her vocals in this performance. You can spot it during the high falsetto top note at the end of the chorus but this doesn't change the fact that she performed this really well. Despite the minimal processing, you can still hear her raw voice. If we're going to remove all the post production processing in her vocals, the result would still be pretty similar.
My GenX heart is exploding. Major chills. I don't understand how ppl weren't freaking out! 2 of my favorite songs mashed up by another of my bands? Oml.
You can tell she's much more comfortable in this environment. This feels authentic and real to her persona now. And she's actually in her vocal range. I think a lot of people, and I would like her more if she just did this
She is so essence. Men of culture, I'm not ashamed to admit I'm a big fan of her work. This Grammy set was really on point. And together with the interstellar level of talent it helps that she is jaw-droppingly hot too.

sir listen to folklore on sad days im sure youll like it

About to start again for the second time this year!
I live and breathe Taylor. 😂
And that's not even that old 😄
Watching her perform this live, almost like the guitar is playing a character of its own. I feel like this version is much more melancholy than the studio version. It definitely sounds more bittersweet. Taylor can sing. But even more important than that, she is not just a singer. She also has an amazing gift with words
well said
This right there! Your comment perfectly describes why she resonates with so many people. We are so lucky to be growing up with her.
I love the song more after hearing about this :(
This acoustic version really takes this beautiful and haunting song to a much deeper level. It's nolstogic and heart-tugging.
It's not acoustic but I agree with the rest.
Those vocals are perfection
...same with her hair
Same with her face😍
Same with her lip
She's got a slightly heavy pitch corrector :/ most modern artists use em tho.
I reckon that when she releases 1989 TV she should do an acoustic version of Wildest Dreams just like this 😍
Manifesting this!!!!
acoustic? this is electric 💀 (but its amazing tho, taylor shld do a rock or even blues album ngl)
@@wongijen9167 Well yeah, it's still acoustic cause she's performing the song using only her guitar. But I agree, that would be pretty cool to hear 🤪✨
She didn't :(
@@Plantsandkidneys I knowww I'm so gutted 😭 the album is amazing though!
Yas, she's amazing, love her voice. I love Shawn Mendes, Sia, Camila Cabelo too. But for me, Ariana Grande is the greatest in live
Nice input, sir. Thank you.😊💙
I'm a 75 year ex radio jock and I could not agree with you more. I remember her first big song Tim McGraw. She's come a helluva long way.

+fAshSon she had an acoustic set on tour at every show
+Anniebelle 1414 "acoustic set" you mean ONE song every show
+Maria b13 I would not count clean as an acoustic number. However I'll give you Love Story... and no, it was either a 1989 bonus track OR a throwback song, not both. so I stick with what I said, ONE acoustic number (aka one song with the guitar) lol

and also a different genre
yeah... it's nice
Do you know the chords of how she did this?
+katie Austin The entire song is C, Em, and D
Then the second part is G, D, Am and C

@@Keithjames153it has net gone through production tho. It is her actual voice and I know this cus my uncle was in the crowd that day 🙃
Keith James, how would
You know that??
Seriously even without the effects on her voice her voice is still amazing!!
its not just about the voice, her talents in playing the instruments and write her own songs. really has my respect. true musician
Takes guts to sing this live. No idea how she had no voice cracks or breaks or at all
I hate to spoil it for you, but there's real time post processing of her voice.
