Every good album has that one song that you might not think too much about on the first listen, as it might not be the "boppiest," but after a couple more listens you start to realize that that track is your absolute favorite. That's this song for me. Beautiful poetry, and that slow build to the "THANK YOU" moments is incredible. So much power and soul. Love love love.
It made me cry on my second listening and a lot of times I just cry again. And is not necessarily out of sadness, it just hits deep, sometimes its even a kind of happy feeling, greatful for being alive and experiencing art that hits so good.

My cat died August 14, I got an ornament made in his image/size for the ashes. I put his bandana on, and plaque he always wore.. I've been telling my family that sometimes my mind tricks me, and I see him in the corner of my eye and for a second I forget he's dead, and he's with me, and I can hug him, feed him, play with him. And even though I believe he's with me, those fractions of a second give me happiness too. The other day I was changing the order of my room because I am cat less, friend less, loveless, and this song came on my rotation. The way he sings “the blink of an eye” as “the BINK AH AN AHHHHA” genuinely moves me. Best 2 seconds of music in 2024 (Not ironic). What an absolutely heart wrenching song. I feel all the lyrics to my core.
I know this is a relationship song, but I just lost my cousin in a freak unexpected car accident and this is really helping get through. I was supposed to see him the following day 😔 “and I have to say, thank you!, thank you!, for being there for me for so long” please sing this song live when you guys come to LA please 🙏🏻
I don't think it's very clear if it's relationship song, it could very well be interpreted as being about the passing of a friend/close one, and not quite being able to move on from that because of the deep impact that person had on you. At least that's how I interpret it, through my personal experience... And that's the beautiful thing about music! One song can mean so many different things to different people, depending on their personal experiences :)
