As a kid on the west coast of Australia I can say I defiantly had a Jawa on a 12-back Toltoys card. He was the second to last of the 12 that I got in Perth along with a Toltoys carded die-caste Tie Fighter on the evening of February 9 1979. Chewbacca, being the hardest to find by far, was my last 12-back figure two weeks later on February 22. Weird to me now because he was one of the first released but he was just nowhere. As for Luke X-Wing, I got him alongside Hammerhead three months later on May 23. The second wave had dropped during our May school holidays. And yes, at first it was just the cantina aliens, but Luke was also among them in my neck of the woods. The cards began appearing with Kenner logos midway through 1979...
I absolutely had vinyl cape jawa purchased in Australia. The cape ripped easily and was quickly disposed of. I recall seeing cloth ones later which o thought was a better idea. Same goes for Darth and Obiwan on vinyl.
Just to correct a mistake I made at the 13th minute - the red 4-LOM offer only came out on the six figures that debuted on the 45 back, but actually the offer was on the 47 back version of those figure (not the 45 back as mentioned in the presentation). Sorry for any confusion
Brilliant concise and entertaining summary of Toltoys SW - I keep returning to watch it every few months, thanks so much for uploading.
Absolutely wonderful panel. Thank you so much for uploading this.
A big thank you for uploading all the panels! Very appreciated. :)
I bought a loose AT-AT from that Wynnum garage back in the early 90s.
Great panel. Had no idea about any of this stuff!

this was a thing? Damn.
Good insight as an Aussie SW fan. To our American cousins, please excuse the very dry and dull Aussie humour!
