What can i say my guy, this was an amazing trip we shared and i am sure there will be many many more to come, all i can say is HOLY CRAP you did this one justice in this video!!! It's a masterpiece, i am not 3ft by the way, i am at least 3.1ft, just make note of that for your next video please!!!! LOVE YOU MY MAN 😎
Can't believe I came across your channel only now... Excellent editing and what a cool trip. Hope there's many more to come and we'll probably see you along the way somewhere.
" There is a freedom to this type of travel that has to be experienced to be fully understood " - you can say that again. Excellent as always. Looking forward to your next adventure.
You've just reminded me how much I miss this lifestyle...have checked your vehicle in our South Peninsula hood...so much good stuff in WC. Tankwa is on my horizon !!!
Awesome video Tim! Glad you got the proper Tankwa Experience with the spots Roland showed you. Watching this makes me want to head to the Tankwa soon again!
Great video - now Tankwa is also at the top of our list! PS: Just ignore the self righteous critics and keep doing what you are doing ... it is wholesome and fun and inspirational for all the right reasons!
Enjoyed the drone footage, impressed by the last evening’s shot in the howling wind. Must be a Mavic, my little Mini3 would have blown away. Great combination of a pro photographer and wild off road places.
Looks like the Stadsaal Caves to me, been there "donkeys years" ago, several times. On private property of the N. family. Am glad to see they are still keeping it private! ❤
@@LostinAfrica It looked familiar, but considering the vastness of the area, there must be more such caves inhabited by the Little People, and today kept private by the landowners for good reasons.
The Stadsaal Caves are still called just that, so this is another cave. As @hdscha4710 says, there are many of these around, and all of them are beautiful!
If i built another fortuner 100%. With the limited roof size its such a great tent. It’s a great tent either way, but the added bonus of still having so much space on the rack is amazing!
Top stuff Tim. Very tastefully done. Looking forward to your new content. Just wanted to know if you dont mind sharing. Have you upgraded your suspension on Jabari. Vehicle looks tops bud. I also have a 4x4 Fortuner. Busy with a few upgrades too.
Thank you! And of course! At this stage Jabari was running Tough Dog front and rear shocks with 250kg front springs and 500kg rear springs, but they weren’t coping with the extreme mods i have done. So I have subsequently changed to terrain tamer shocks in front, with Camil rear coil overs, and still the same tough dog springs. I am very happy now but Jabari is a real fatty so this is an extreme set up!
@@LostinAfrica Thanks for your response. Sounds like a very heavy duty setup on Jabari. I guess it's only when the suspension is really put to the test that one would know what works and what really doesn't. Expensive game too so it helps with inputs from you and Jabari:). The Hamer bumper looks awesome on that Fortuner, nice slim bumper, tough but not bulky as well. The colour does justice too. I'm sure you just love to overland with that beast of a Jabari. I see you got some Takla seats as well. I got mine recently in Kyalami. Are they serving u well.
Yeah exactly. I would strongly advice figuring out exactly how far you plan to take your build before deciding on suspension! I know many people that started with a pretty normal build, got great suspension, and then added bumpers and swing arms and extra fuel, and then suddenly had to change their suspension again... Just like me! Takla are the best man, these have had seriously hard use for almost 3 years now and are still perfect! And pop me a mail if you want a hammer, can put you in touch with the distributor, same guy that brings in the ikampers. @@krisrock8
In good weather conditions a 2x4 with difflock will be just fine! Buuut there are a few areas that can become very tricky very quickly if it is even slightly wet!
I normally really enjoy your channel and was looking forward to watching this episode - rather disappointing seeing your mate defacing road signs - just not fuckjng cool
Why does it upset you so much? So long as it doesn’t cover the name on the sign I think it’s pretty cool and has a sense of community. It’s like people building little piles of rocks. Personally I won’t do it, but i do not understand why it has become so contentious!
You seem to be looking forward to each night camp so you can down some beverages. At around 17:00 you categorically state that you’re going to get drunk. IMHO there should be less of referencing and suggestive alcohol consumption in 4wd vids. The constant ‘need’ for a drink is not healthy and although many countries have banned media promotion of alcohol, here you are doing it for the ‘legal’ drug companies. I’m not a wowser; just concerned for the young people who watch. Cheers 👍🏻🙏👍🏻
Thanks for the opinion Graham, but if you watched the rest of my videos you would see this is never normally the case. This was a boys trip, with beers around the fire at night. And when I said we're going to get drunk it is right after we wrapped the big campaign shoot, and with no need to be anywhere else. It's honest, my channel always is, and I think that is more important. And as I said, this really is an exception.

Beautiful video! The "Esel" in Eselbank means "Donkey" in Afrikaans, so Roland's Troopy must have felt right at home there ;)
Haha that is awesome!! And thank you!
Wowww so happy to see u back and so excited to see more and more videos of magic u create
Thank you!! There is a lot on the way!!
Awesome video Tim!

Thanks man! And yeah made me want to head out again straight away! But i have to edit more than i film or i will never catch up! Haha

Awesome looking trip! Super jealous, thank you for sharing and can’t wait for more!
Loads to come, glad you enjoyed it!!
YAY you're back 👍🙏👌😁 can't wait to see more...

Thanks
My pleasure!
"cause I'm not 3 foot tall"'..........🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Good stuff guys!

Awesome video man, keep up the good work
Enjoyed watching this. Looks like you guys had lots of fun.
Ah we really did, love traveling with rolly! Glad you enjoyed it!
2 legends ❤…he was “lost in Africa” and he found “* life in Africa”….. love it
Haha love that!
Ja I think that this was brilliant. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
Guys! Put our stickers on the back side of the signboards please. It’s the right thing to do! Thanks.
Awesome!!
Thanks!
Amazing guys, lekker 🙏
Thank you!
Great content. Thank you for the taste of home.
So glad you enjoyed it!
This was too beautiful to watch Tim
Thank you sir!
Great video. Tankwa is hands down my favourite place in SA!
Oh wow really? No kruger has to still top it for me, but it is magical!
@@LostinAfrica Kruger and many other places are incredible, but I've never felt peace like I did in the silent desolation of Tankwa.
Always enjoy your vids

Great to watch! Just want to ask, you say 4x4 roads….. really necessary or would a 2x4 with difflock be sufficient for this trip? Thanx
