I love the Amish. A culture of craftsmanship. So awesome how they build them on the lot so that when they get to the customers property they just slap them together like Legos.
It’s so beautiful the people, house, the views. Excellent teamwork and craftsmanship. We are all so blessed beyond measure!!! Love and light, peace, joy, harmony, prosperity and unlimitedness to all!!!
I don't watch TV anymore because of the filthy content but I sure am hooked on watching these gorgeous log home builds and seeing peoples dream come true. I wish I was a part of it.
38:45 It gonna be self serve for you... Amen Elvie! Great job guys. I know one thing.. if ever the day comes I can afford to build my family a log cabin, it will be with the help of your company.
Log cabin is my biggest dream house... Hope one day can recover and hits better journey and build our own dream Log Cabin home someday... May the Lord bless us ALL.
I grew up in Montana. Seeing the homes this amazing family is building makes me wish I had the money to return. Y'all are giving an old lady new dreams. 😁👍🇺🇸
Wow absolutely amazing!! You do great work....Wish I could build a house like that! I like that your crew is safety conscious. Keep up the good work my friend!!
I am 77 years old and was born and raised just North of Lancaster County, PA. After being away from my home place for over 50 years now, it was quite a culture shock to see where the Amish have gone with their beliefs and their usage of modern technology!! To say that the family who own and operate Meadowlark Log Homes have moved to the "liberal" side of Amish tradition is like saying that the Hoover Dam was built to catch rainfall in one place!! Their accomplishments so overshadow the Lancaster Amish I knew growing up that it boggles one's mind to try to imagine how they moved from point A to point B in such a short amount of time. From driving one horse black buggies with kerosene lamps to make them road safe to hauling huge logs on multi trailer transports is but one of the major changes I noticed in their traditional beliefs. I recall my older brother bringing his new wife back to PA from their home in IL, in the late 40's, to show her where HE grew up and trying to photograph a single Amish buggy coming down a country road one afternoon. That Amish man took a detour with his buggy immediately when he saw what Jim was trying to do! They didn't believe in those "worldly" things [such as photography] back in the day. If memory serves, they believed, much like many of the Native American tribes believed, that a photograph of them would take away part of their "soul". The video, in and of itself, will attest to the movements made in their beliefs since that time. As for the progressive Amish in the county back then, they drove motor vehicles. For example the cheapest model of Ford Mainline sedan with no chrome trim and black walled tires, and the entire car in black paint. The chrome bumpers and any other trim on those basic vehicles were painted black by the owner as soon as they got the car back to their farm! ....... My, how times have changed .......
I love Ron and his wife, they picked my favorite design and made it even better with their custom modification. It would be great to talk to them and learn from their experience with their beautiful home and the land they purchased. I can see myself doing something like them. They seem like people who did a lot of research just like me. Ron if your out there and ever read this I hope you wouldn't mind spending a few minutes talk with me.
Good on you mister, you're the one with class. And your kids love you. Hope you build a home like that one day for your family and yourself. Abby's great too.
Congratulations Nancy and Ron. You have a beautifully built Amish Log Home. I wish you well, happiness, warmth and loving Montana Log Living. How strong and longstanding is a long home? Are Log Home durable and long lasting? That's my questions and concerns.
Elvie your crew does an amazing job! I have always wanted a log home. I am getting tired of Washington State so one day I may have to talk to you about building us a log home! Thanks for the amazing video & content!
a great example of how all us Christians should be, humble, meek, peaceful. So glad i came upon this show. No one's perfect but I admire the Amish (whether orthodox or not).
That's not even what the show is about! Besides, Amish people using not just electricity but heavy machinery. I don't care what anybody's religion is but don't wear plaid and cut your beard a certain way and say you're Amish. As for the house, it was gorgeous but only 2 bedrooms? And the interior decorating looked like my crazy aunt just pulled every single one of her yard ornaments inside and threw them all over the house.
You build homes dreams are made of but the real dream is having the money to afford to build one. Most of us will never be able to fulfill our dreams and can only fantasize about them, when watching those who are able to, like this couple can.
I have seen your work before... by some ladies that I befriended in Nashville....... They were just wonderful. ANY WHO.... they showed they're home..... SPLENDID MAGNIFICENCE!!! It was Fantastic!!! but NO Electric; not even SOLAR PANEL..... I LOVED THE WORK!!!
I live in NYC with my wife and two kids, and after finding Meadowlark log homes online we started looking for our waterfront acreage. Seeing these awesome log homes I vowed never to buy a house in the city. Well I think we finally found our land and cant wail to have LV and the boys throw up our Montana Lodge.
Where is your property located at? In 2019 I did a video of me going into Massachusetts to visit old customers. The Catskills in New York are beautiful and we sent a small cabin there last summer. I visited the site but didn’t get any videos of it but it was so beautiful.
@@AmishMeadowsOfficial I will definitely look for that video. We are entering negotiations on a 6 acre river front property in St. Lawrence County, NY. We looked at every one of the Lodges, and especially loved the Cottonwood layout with sun room and the Montana lodge. In the end we decided on the Montana lodge with the 7 rooms and entertainment space so that we can host other family apart from our immediate family of 4. The only thing I would try to add to the Montana Lodge is a sunroom/tea room/reading room for my wife Nicole. I imagined the sunroom added on the porch area where the ground floor master bedroom opens out to the deck. Lol, we'are so excited about getting this house eventually.
What a talented team! A Great Family man and person too. You have a real gift. Can I get one in Greece? I retired after 26 years in the Navy and I know about leadership and teamwork. It really shows through. Keep it up! God Bless you, you BIG family and wonderful team!
Great Job, Alvie! You put Pride in the Craftmanship of the Homes you build. That’s what people lack now a days! Hopefully you can do the same for me one of these years!
The builders do a magnificent job. But I became a little disheartened, he is such a gracious host and gentleman he doesn’t give himself or his crew enough credit for their accomplishments. The decorator is very good at what she does but without the superb construction of that masterpiece the books ,covers, and other decorative items would have no place to nestle their heads and call home. I’m so happy they knew it was unsafe to work in such inclement weather. Great job all of you.
Gotta tell ya my friend you truly are blessed with amazing skills and such a beautiful family the Creators are extremely proud of you thumbs up my friends WOW
Hi, Elvie ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I enjoyed watching the build of this awesome huge log home, quality built construction 👍🏻 man I loved the great room with amazing beautiful views of the Montana mountains throughout the home with a wraparound deck so amazing. I loved the drone footage capturing all the amazing scenery !!! Thanks for sharing, enjoy and have a Blessed Sunday !!! Danny
Outstanding quality build, the amish people are very good with wood and the beautiful finishing but not too sure about the design features, having said that they do what they do, great work guys.
Yea, well.. that part of the build is not up to him-it’s not his house. He is tasked/commissioned with masterfully building a home - TO & FROM someone else’s desires & design specifications. They build ppl’s home’s correctly & of the absolute best quality humanely possible. :)
Big hint before you build your dream log house, make sure the logs will be from dead standing logs or dried down to at least to about 10 % at the final stack to avoid most of the shrinkage that will accrue after the house is finished and heating of the interior. If not , you will have a heap of problems. Also plan for 1/4 to 3/8 inch thick elastic chinking with foam backing at all log joints . The foam backing is a bond breaker which allows for more elasticity of the chinking to allow for the settling and movement of the logs which all log buildings do . Also make sure that chinking is applied between the interior log purlins and the roof ceiling to prevent heat loss, especially if they are installing anything other than expandable foam in the roof. Been working on these log projects since 1977 in four western states including Montana . I could go on , but if you follow the above, you’ll have a valuable log house for years to come with a lot less headache .
Hi William and happy New Year in 2020. The expandable foam (in the roof, or in other places of the house) is really good and/or safe in a case of a fire? And is foam good for the environment (from an ecological point of view) ? I don't think so. It is not good for human health either!
@@dacyana115 foam? Its around us every where. We sit on it daily when driving cars. Plus i think wasting valuable energy including ones hard earned money to just heat and cool your home is *ALOT* worse for the environment than using a little bit of foam & insulation.
I don't think they do any of the final appliances. Notice how the masonry around the fire wasn't done, they just had a roughed in shape of a chimney with plywood. The floors hadn't been put in yet, the basement didn't have any siding on it and there was no kitchen. The decorative furniture they bring in is just for show I believe to let the viewers see the final product even though they just do the wood structure.
Beautiful house, fantastic scenery. Sooo nice but when Ron and Nancy said let's go outside, oh look it's snowing!!! No thanks, I am born and bred in the sub-tropics of Australia. Have only seen snow once or twice and then only for a week. Not used to it at all. Montana sure is beautiful though.
Good job is an understatement, calling it a great job is nowhere near enough. This house is a masterpiece.
thank you
I love the Amish. A culture of craftsmanship. So awesome how they build them on the lot so that when they get to the customers property they just slap them together like Legos.
LOL
When he said “when I grow up I want to have a house like this”
I felt that
Absolutely
Nice
Where do you feel it
Save tree save planet
He has said that in another episode as well.
The house is incredible and the interior decoration is the crowning glory.
"I can't wait for them to see their home." How sweet is this Amish papa?!? Just adorable. Truly warms my heart.
The character of the builder speaks volumes. His work is a shadow of his tall character.
I love Ron's transition from white collar to mountain man by the end of the build.
The mountains are calling and I must go.
I noticed that too
BEAUTIFUL WORK OF ART... THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR AWESOME VIDEO...
Very beautiful home enjoy
Thank you
