      That video of her running leaves me so torn. As a somewhat parental ruffian, I'm like "Mocochan! Your voice!" But it's SO CUTE! And the video where it's a dog tugging like hell on a leash is SUPER cute.

    iirc they're Irish-Swedish girls who lived mostly in Canada and Japan. Add the live idol mannerisms and vtuber accent on top and that probably lends to why the way they speak is so unique. 😆

    Additional context: In German you can write ä ö ü as ae oe ue. Due to the way the language evolved it was initially e.g. for the ä-Umlaut "ae", but they started to put the "e" above the "a" for style reasons. And when writing the "e" a certain way it looks like 2 dots above the letter.
    So whenever Mococo ends a word in "oe", she might as well just said "ö"

    • @Nova-Franconia
      @Nova-Franconia 28 днів тому +6

      Not quite correct. Æ and Œ coexisted with Ä and Ö during Middle High German and represented 2 different sounds: Æ being a long Ä, with Ä always being short, and Œ being a long Ö, with Ö always being pronounced short. Same existed with the letter Ü, but that letters long equivalent was written as IU (iu).

  • @toms7219
    @toms7219 28 днів тому +1

    œ descends from a Latin borrowing from Greek, so it's French, and thus Canadian :D

  • @Kalenz1234

    All the germanic countries fighting over Mogojan's adoption rights. As a swede, Mococo's accent always sounded a bit familiar. Before I had read comments saying they were from Canada, I always thought that they were from Minnesota or that region.

    • @onyhow
      @onyhow 27 днів тому +2

      Apparently they're Swedish-Canadian, so them sounding familiar to you might not just be you.

    • @pite9
      @pite9 27 днів тому

      @@onyhowCool. Their parent definately speaks with an accent then, and they would have retained some of it. That also explains why it's mostly Mococo. Maybe she was closer to that parent or didn't have as many friends growing up. That checks out with her being the gamer of the two.

      @@Nova-Franconia The Norwegian Ø is at least practically the same as the German Ö for the most part. There's not many who pronounce it differently over here.

      Fuwawa also has this accent, but she tries to soften it. When she gets nervous or excited, she lets it slip a bit. Most clip channels tend to focus only on Mococo for some reason, so those who only watch clips miss out on most of Fuwawa's cute moments.
