How did you determine the height of your frame? You say you want the middle of the arch to be 9 in down, but how did you determine the low points of the arch?
I measured to make sure the low points were above the shower insert and wouldn’t interfere with it, and also made the arch similar to the arches in the other showers of our house.
Was there, or is there, any concern about condensation affecting the interior walls of the alcove? I only mentioned this because it does seem like it's an enclosure almost or does it naturally just dissipate with the bathroom vent fan?
It seems to naturally dissipate and the fan helps a lot. The original builder made the same arch for both showers on the first floor and we haven't had any issues with extra moisture. no mold or mildew development in the 5 years we've lived here!
Awesome job! Definitely helped me on an 9ft archway I'm doing.
Glad it helped!
Great job! Did you do a drywall video on the same arch?
Great video! Thanks :)
Glad you liked it! Thanks!
Genius
Thanks!

Do you tile the ceiling behind the arch and the backside and the bottom of the arch?
I just dry walled and plastered those areas
