It is a bad anime but good lord is it probably a great light novel. It suffers from a slow pace adaptation that killed the show but probably work great as a novel.
If you like this show , i think you will really like mushoku tensei, give it a chance, at least for episode 8. i think it is called tuning point. i am sure you will not regret it. This show hit hard when the moment came 🥹

It is a very slow show. But it does look really pretty.
I have not read the novels but my friends love them.
