I was looking at Ford Maverick gu with a cooked motor I was thinking about putting a ba 260 motor in it I think I might call quits while a head after seeing how much work is going to take to put a barra in I can imagine the 260 would be and I absolutely nightmare that I can't afford
@@BenKeeneOfficial I nearly went Barra cos mine was turning into an oil aerosol-ing device, but an LS commy landed in my lap and made my mind up for me. Still interested in the Barra swaps tho, good size donk with boost.
good work on putting a barra in your gu, im doing the same thin with mine but im going NA for now. look out for the turbo you will need to relocate it, the rod shop told me that. they have one sitting there in the shop. but i wood like to know where you got the speedo wire for please
Colin Edwin Pringle yeah turbo Is one thing thats being looked at now. Can flip standard manifold for top mount but then have heat issues. Hopefully get away with spacing steering box and small manifold adjustments.
Colin Edwin Pringle Hey mate, it was purchased off one of the blokes on the barra patrols facebook page. Just have a search and you should be able to find the module and the instructions.
Hi mate just wondering who you got engineering thru and the price. I'm in Adelaide too and about to do conversion like you. What was the cost on engineering too. Cheers. Love the episodes. Great work
i belive there is a bellhousing for the re4 patrol auto, but now there are Barra ZF to patrol transfer case adpator...so your better of using the 6 speed auto from the falcon. ill be going this way shortly.
Gained a sub man I'm about to undertake this is my tb45 thanks for the videos and the links to the parts! What's the most unexpected thing that came up when doing the install?
good chance you can follow the same guidelines as the GQ conversion... however u will need a GQ transfer and a GQ center pumpkin diff from a ute, to match the leafs from the MQ.
Hey mate, yeah I have but I got a good deal on this one so I decided to go with it. maybe in the future If this motor goes i may look at building an LPG motor, Cheers.
Problems and expense of turboing LPG engines/ backfires/explosions etc. LPG engines use same rods as the petrol engines. BF/FG rods are stronger than BA. Go for a 500 odd $ set of of HP rods.
hogtownhenry pretty sure some of the LPG motors do have the semi forged pistons from the F6 motors i’m told not sure if there is any truth to it. Getting a good set of rods would be a must if in going to build a motor though

Honestly any conversion is going to not be cheap or without headaches. A boss motor would be bloody cool though!
Sub'd dude! my ZD30 went pop today so I'm looking at chuckin an FGX Barra in mine! Awesome vid dude keep it up!
Axyl Wheeler Cheers Bro! Do it mate! Nothing to lose!

Did you engineer it and if you didn't what would you have to do diffrent to engineer it😀
Good job on the transfer
How much would that hp tuner thing cost thanks for theese videos
Hey mate cost about $500
Much better when u put the camera down instead of on your person much more stable during time lapse. I would like to put a Barra motor in my gu
Do you know if they do the bellhousing for the auto? Or is there someone else.
Subbed dude!

What's the most unexpected thing that came up when doing the install?
Thankyou mate, I appreciate it. Most unexpected thing so far was probably the difficulty of using a BA motor with FG sump
Hey mate, where did you get the fuel tank bulk heads from?
What kit did you get, where from and how much?
Has anyone tried chucking a Barra in a 1985 mq patrol?
Wayne Jakamarra probably haha not sure

How much did it end up costing you turn key?
Sorry I missed this, I’ll reply anyway even if it is a year late, about 9k to do it myself for the conversion
@@BenKeeneOfficial how many hours of work did it take your do get it to that stage?
Have you looked into the lpg motors? Way cheaper and strong apparently
