“No Slack” soldiers of 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division get pinned down by accurate PKM and RPG fire in Afghanistan’s Kunar province.
The troops are unable to gain fire superiority and are few in numbers on a remote outpost, which makes it impossible maneuver on the enemy. Instead, they call in artillery fire from a larger nearby base. They are able to “walk the rounds onto target” by relaying corrections over the radio to the artillery team.

That "LOL" in the end is disrespecting as well, what's funny? What's good about not noticing artillery and bullet fire? It's mostly adrenaline that causes you not to really be aware, it's the same with gunshot wounds. Not noticing artillery fire will lead you to your death. So, I guess WW3 would make them on par then? Alright, hope you enjoy global extinction from Nuclear winter. If not, intense fire from MLRS and ICBMs may do the trick. Oh, maybe a tomahawk missile strike is good enough to make modern era soldiers on par with WW2 and Vietnam. Ah yes, I forgot cluster bombs could do the trick. @Venting to myself we actually worked very closely with the towns leaders to protect them from the taliban who were senselessly killing their people. The people we killed were done out of self defense to ourselves and that's it. I'm a simple. Man. If someone is shooting at me I shoot back. The taliban weren't defending their land. my favourite quote. "I don't know, but we have grass on our head" pretty much sums up the military.
Over and over on these videos we see the same problem: (1) the difficulty of actually spotting where enemy fire is coming from (2) the slowness of return fire from artillery or aircraft. They need some sort of aircraft that can loiter permanently overhead, identify targets/sources of fire and strike them very quickly.

4:35 LMAO the solider holding the canvas/covering thing up to avoid getting hot brass in the face/neck.
I remember during Saving Private Ryan, a small mirror was used to view the enemy when pinned. Why today isn't a cameras used (or device created), in this pinned situation, that pops out and the soldiers can look at a screen to view the ememies position without needing to dangerously pop their heads out? The camera can zoom in and the pinpoint position without the risk. Might even automatically give the location coordinates? I am sure there is something like that made.
... You've never heard of UAVs?
Also these guys are taking fire from hundreds of meters away. Tiny cameras like that don't have the resolution or zoom to be useful.
And most of the ducking and covering is more to avoid catching shrapnel from explosives than bullets.
@@T800123 Good answer! I've never served and have watched way too many Sci-Fi movies. In my imagination, I can see one of the guys while taking cover, pull out a small drone and launch it from where they are at using a tablet. Combined with the satellite UAV, I could see that helping to locate the enemy. Question, how does the soldier see the satellite UAV information/locations in this pinned down scenario? Is the UAV using heat along with visual to locate?

How close were the enemies since they had to use a claymore? I know claymores have a hell of a distance but it would seem that the claymore wouldn't be that far away from our guys as a line of defense.
Claymores are frequently set up in nearby dead space (areas that can't be directly observed) and then are detonated to clear the dead space to ensure that no one was able to sneak in there and lay in wait until everyone is distracted and then attack from that dead space.
