Oh dear - that was unfortunate! There is a 'repacking' guide on the manufacturer's website, but you'd need someone else to help with that of course. I also realise this comment is now so delayed as to be no longer useful. :)
@@drgareth At first we thought the cards might have got "shaken" into different rooms during that one early puzzle (day 2? 3? 4?), but we ca t imagine THAT many could have been affected, if even a single one.
This was much more the ordinary exit-style riddle. You solved it much like I did. A clear improvement from yesterday and a return to the vibe of the old-school Exit.
Yes, I agree! It was lucky the central 7 was pretty easy to form so I was reasonably sure I was on the right track. If I had realized more quickly that there was only one way round to stack them then I think I would have tried harder with the first digit on my initial attempt. :)
It helps when you can't think of anything else to do, so you have no choice but to do so. :) It's when there are lots of options that it's easier to go wildly off track, I think! ;)
This was a very fun one! I have to say I wasn’t expecting the ID cards to be used so soon as it seemed like they were gonna be the final riddle, but still this was great and very creative. I much enjoyed this puzzle
You worked out that the letters on the table referred to the back of the ID cards almost immediately! We spent ages trying to see if it was people’s surnames, their department or even the hat they were wearing before we thought to look on the back. D’oh!
Same! I was so happy when I finally figured that out and it took quite a while! Then I watched this video to see that Gareth figured it out immediately! Not feeling very clever today...🤣
I can imagine being stuck on this for ages too! It was just lucky that I happened to have spotted previously (as I read out each day) that the letters on the backs were increasing alphabetically each day, so I knew this already without having to check. :)
I struggled a bit because of the full-sized name plates at both ends. It looks like you need to have the first and last ones overlapping all the others. 🤨 I was okay otherwise!
Oh, I see what you mean - the one on the right should have been longer than the one on the left. Actually, I think it MIGHT be slightly longer now I look again, but it's not obvious! :)
aaah, I came and found this because I've spent like 20 minutes frustrated and even the help page didn't help... the wrong cards are in my Day 9 - so I couldn't have done this. *sigh* At least I know I'm not going insane
Oh dear - that's annoying! If your calendar has incorrect placements it sounds like you will need (unfortunately) to check the letters on the back of each card going forward, to make sure they match the ones listed in the story entry! :(
This series has been a lifesaver. My copy has had multiple cards either missing or in the wrong room, and this has been our only way to solve it!

I enjoyed the usage of the letters to provide the organization of the names, but there was very little hint to squeeze them so close together.

I’m impressed with your perseverance when pursuing a solve that doesn’t seem to be working out initially. I think I would have second guessed myself.

You never know... they might still be used again in the final riddle - it's not impossible! :) (I have no idea if they are or aren't, by the way!)
@@drgareth good point, you never know
You got to the code numbers very quickly! Well done! I struggled with compacting them to create a code.
