Do you know what mate, I just want to say thank you. I’ve seen a couple of your comments saying how people are angry you’re doing this, and I can’t stand people getting mad over good people sharing knowledge. The numbers of people fishing in general - especially youngsters, in the age of computer games and TikTok 🙄 - are dwindling massively. And the way I see it is, for locals who regularly fish the river, they probably don’t need your help in these vids. But for those like myself, who is NOT local, to drive an hour and half+ to what is already a notoriously difficult river to fish, with no idea where to start, it’s a god-send! And also, I don’t live close enough to be doing it that regularly to piss off the ‘locals’. Thanks so much again. Gonna get myself over after going through all your vids for a little session 😄

Thank you so much for the amazing comments buddy, it means a lot to me..👍
It's a real shame there are people out there who seem to want it all to themselves not realising that if we all behaved like that know one would be able to fish non-local rivers anymore.
Glad i could help in some way for you..😊
If you have any questions about the spots I've covered so far, I'll be glad to help anytime..

For me, fishing from the bank it's gotta be Aragon Avenue or Cigarette Island at Hampton Court, otherwise if you can borrow or have the finances to buy a new or used small inflatable dinghy around the 2 - 2.4mtr mark DO IT..! The Thames completely changes its tune from a boat, the difference is incredible..! Its something to do with the angle of the line in the water i recon. The line fishing vertically from a boat rather than horizontally from the bank is a massive advantage (the fish aren't used to it) Chertsey Wier can be productive using the dinghy, i launch a few metres downstream of the small free car park by the bridge. If you can't get your hands on a small dinghy / tender try to make it a mission as it will change everything for you..!!
For now though definitely Aragon Avenue and Hampton Court are the best bet, i wouldn't necessarily fish alone here at night, but that's the best time to be fishing really other than when it's in flood. I use Carp tactics with 18mm Fishy Trout Pellet Boilies as bait with a homemade very high oil and super hard/sticky Trout Pellet Paste that stays on for as long as possible around the weight bait and hook as explained in some of my other videos. No loose feed..! Just patience..!!
Aragon and Hampton have both got completely clear bottoms so you can take your pick on where you cast in normal conditions.. General rule of thumb is the higher the river the closer you fish..
Remember, getting a small boat changes everything.. hope this helps you out buddy keep me informed on how you do. Tight Lines..😊👍🎣🐟

@@MUCKER671 thanks so much mate for such a detailed reply! Yesss, boat sounds a great idea and like the idea of it. Can afford to get one for sure.. gonna start on the banks this winter then treat myself next summer :) Do you need to register a small inflatable for use on the Thames still?? Or can u just rock up and crack on haha. Obvs I will look into it, but whilst here am ‘thinking aloud’ so thought would ask

I used to pick mine up from the Lock keeper at Chertsey also at Shepperton lock, really nice people normally.
I used to launch the dinghy then pop in to see the keeper to pay & pick up a small reg/license number that you need to display. Honestly though, most of the time they didn't charge me co's the dinghy was so small, just 2.4mtrs. If i remember correctly there were 3 or 4 different choices of boat permits you could buy, ranging from 1 day to a whole year. Its been a while but i think it used to be £10 for 3 days..?
Park in the tiny car park just at the end of Chertsey Bridge if there's space..🤞 You can launch an inflatable close to the car here. Shepperton Wier has a small Slipway, i show that spot in my Shepperton Wier video.
I'm up filming at Chertsey Layham area in the next few days so maybe worth keeping an eye out for that soon, ill be going into great detail about the boat access amongst other things.
      Hope this helps you buddy.😊👍🎣🐟

Hello again! Hope all well. I’m thinking of trying this stretch soon - just for a few hours in an afternoon and evening - and you will certainly get the credit if I do. I have some spare maggots and love the sound of trying for chub on the waggler. I’m always happy to feed for a good while, too, but am fearful of the bleak!! Have you found it’s possible to feed them off using the tactics described, or do the chub push them off if they are in the mood? I’m guessing the latter but also wondering if I should take alternative baits/feed like pellets or corn… 🤔 However, if you think I should have faith in that steady trickle of maggots then I will give it a go and I’d be heaven if I could hook into one or two chub on the wag n mag! 🎣🐟

Could be quite Bleak'y in these low conditions, you can feed um off sometimes with patience. Someone told me they've banned night fishing here & Hampton Court recently, best check bud.. For me in these conditions I'd go Fishy Boilie & Paste round the Weight & Bait & cast around a bit. Fishings hard at the mo. Done three sessions last week & only 1 Bream from Chertsey. I'm currently sitting in the Waggon at Shepperton Wier contemplating some filming today and Friday.
If you fancy a chat I'll be back at the car park between 7.30pm to 8pm. "in theory". Let me know how you get on. Ps big perch being caught around the trees at Walton Lane Pt2 bud.!

@@MUCKER671 Thanks! I thought I'd already replied from my phone but just checked and maybe the gremlins got in the way... Good to know it's fishing hard (from an expectation management point of view!) and also that night fishing might not be possible now, but that wasn't in my plan, beyond dusk, this week, so not a problem. I may still give it a go - later this afternoon being a possibility - and be prepared to sit it out on a big bait while I feed up the bleak 😆 I would love to have a phone chat or take you for a pint sometime, if you really don't mind. No rush but your channel and Neil Wayte have recently become my very generous and much appreciated mines of information about fishing the Thames. I can't believe I've come to it so late, but I still have 3-4 teens hanging around the place and it's only in the last year I've rediscovered this thing called 'spare time'... All you bouncy arrows and location tips save hours, if not many days of research! Not sure when I'm going as yet as also restoring a motor cycle, but hopefully before Christmas. 🤞 thanks once again, sharing years of knowledge is invaluable! I've only ever fished the free sections from the tidal Thames around Richmond to the end of the free fishing just before Staines I'm afraid. If you like camping with pubs and fishing I'd suggest AppsCourt, i titled it AppsCourt Cats And Camping on UA-cam, it's my first ever vid i did. You can park in the main field right next to the river but only when the weather has been dry for a while or Chertsey Camping Club and Laleham Camping which have pub's nearby, Walton On Thames camping is a lovely site but only basic amenities with a small section of the River Ember that has a couple of accessible swims for a small fee, not to sure about the pubs here though. Chertsey Camping has room for around three fishermen for a small fee if you're staying there with one swim in the N/Eastern corner that's tight but has good access to the main wier. Good Barbel almost under your feet..!
Sorry i couldn't help you with the middle Thames..😊👍

    • @MUCKER671
      @MUCKER671  2 роки тому +1

Hi, thanks for the nice comment and I'm glad you found my vids helpful..😊
Speaking from personal experiences of losing large Carp and Catfish on the Thames over the years and never actually being able to land one for some reason, I'd suggest anywhere around the Sunbury lock area which is well renowned for large Carp and also large Barbel on occasions.
Not sure if you've seen my video (between Pt4 and Pt5 in my playlist) on AppsCourt, it has camping and free fishing alongside the river. (search the term Babel Carp Cats and camping) on UA-cam for that one.
Next I'd definitely try the Kingslawn spot on the vid you just watched, it can be really productive for the larger species if you can find a spot to park. (tip, don't cast past the nearest line of moorings here as there are ropes & chains hanging down from the mooring buoys)
Failing that, the last reports and photo's i have seen of large Cats and Carp coming out is at Cigarette Island at Hampton Court, Part 7 in my playlist. There's a small tributary that spills into the Thames called the River Ember, when the main river is flooded it's definitely worth a shot in the tributary.
The latest fish pictures I've seen were caught close to Hampton Court Bridge, these fish were caught from a small dinghy though..
Last but not least I would suggest below Shepperton Weir (Pt11) lovely swims but a bit of a walk from the Wier..! There's much closer access at the other end when the car park is available. (most places have a 2.1mtr parking hight restriction though).😔
I fractured my Tibia my foot and displaced my ankle about 4 weeks ago, when I'm better I'll be doing some vids on the tidal stretch of the Thames around Eel Pie Island etc, good for regular bites but generally slightly smaller fish. I hope this helps you my friend, any questions and I'll be glad to answer them for you, take care and Tight Lines..😊👍🎣🐟

I show the parking info in the vid..
The Kingslawn stretch "part 4" in the playlist is really good on its day as well, free Parking but not many spaces.
As for tactics, Walton On Thames "part 2" in the playlist 10mins 40 seconds in is a picture explaining my rig and bait etc.
I use this rig and bait all over the River Thames in all conditions and on nearly every river i fish.
