Was great to be back at it again after a short break, Any MacRorys out there i will eventually cover the family in a lot more detail at Clans&Dynasties but the algorithm punishes this channel for longer videos.
Thank you!! ill eventually get into the clans boundaries and more detail later, had to keep it short on this page as the algorithm hates long videos but im less fussed about it on Clans&dynasties 🤣.
My mother's maiden name was McRory, McCrory, McCrorey (all three spellings in family). My nephew traced them from here in the US all the way to Antrim, Ireland and then back to the Scottish Highlands.
I never met my grandfather. But mama said that when she was a child she asked my grandfather what tartan we wore, he told her, 'Well we wear the MacDonald one now. We killed ourselves off fighting the English for ourselves and whoever others paid us to fight.' She also said he had told her when she was asking other questions about his ancestors for her to not look up his family tree because she would find more hanging from it than law abiding folks.
I am a 3rd Gen Irish-American who was radicalized when I studied Modern Irish History in college. I learned Irish in Arizona from a kind woman from Derry and so I'm told I speak Irish with a heavy Ulster accent. I found that my name Rodgers, was a description of profession, so I dug deeper and found our Irish name. As an American I was told my great grandfathers were nothing more than pig farmers, and the only thing they did worth talking about was emigrating. When my daughter was born, I gave her the name MacRuarí, and finally de-anglicized my own name as well. In the last few years I've learned so much from your channel and from books about Gallowglassers. The Rodgers' from Cavan in America have been typical rebellious hellraisers, my grandfather was a Gold Glove boxer in Flatbush Brooklyn. We were taught to be Kings in Our Own Castles. It was affirming to hear that our rebellious spirit has endured for almost 800-900 years. Of course we are descended from unruly, unbent Scottish-Viking mercenaries, haha This video and your channel(s) inspire so much joy and pride in me, thank you. I also bought like 8 MacRory Gallowglasser T's and we all love them!!!
My McGrory ancestors trace back to area in Co Down ( near Banbridge) and over to Ayr in Scotland . I have DNA matches related to my McGrory ( GGP4th) with surnames Rogers , Macgrorie , McCrory
To be honest does stapling the results of anything to certain people's foreheads seems to be a type of aggression 🤣😂🙄🤷🏼♀️🤦🏻♀️ or a type of release of stress 😜🤨😁🤣😂😅😆

Mine, too. John McCrory left Antrim around 1750 for North Carolina. My 5th great-grandfather. We might be cousins..
My great grandmother was a MacRory!
Well this is relevant to my interests!
Cheers
Your more then welcome man..
