- After tracking this North American Bobcat (Lynx rufus), for over a year,
I was fortunate to get a decent side shot, as he stops directly in front of the trail cam, and takes a look around.
Bobcats are very elusive , excellent climbers, and will climb trees to rest, chase prey, or perhaps to escape predators. The bobcats hind legs are longer than the front legs, which gives the bobcat more power when jumping, as well as a bobbing gait.
Somedays, as I track bobcats out in the forest , I sense them, up high in the trees, looking down, watching, & tracking, me, seeing what I do, & where I go...It works both ways, you see.
If you look closely, the bobcat places its hind paws, in the exact same spot as the front paws, they are very agile and great at concealing, and for a good reason. This makes the North American Bobcat , an extremely difficult animal to track.
Bobcats are excellent predators at hiding their tracks.
Bobcats do not like being around humans, which makes the whole process of seeing one even more challenging.
I love challenges tho.
Still working hard to get those eyes.
