Listened to this song for the first time tonight February 27th, 2024, and it hit me hard, brought up alot of emotions, and questions, haven't seen my father in 18 years, and last time I heard from him, was back in 2013, tonight I'm left wondering if he's still alive, or if he's dead, burst into tears listening to this song, wishing I could see him again and more often
This is exactly how i feel about by Dad! I've cried buckets over the last 10 years, but i know that i'm going to see my Dad anyday now! My Dad thought me the Bible as a little boy! We went fishing alot and now just like he was...Jesus made me fishes of men! Amen! Thank you Jesus for blessing me with the most wonderfull Dad, a son could ever ask for...🙇♂️

This song hit home really hard. My mom used to call all the time and leave me a voicemail message because I was too busy to pick up, and then she passed away in Jan 2019 and I still have the last message she left me on my phone, saying "I'm just checking in to make sure you're ok". I listen to it all the time and wish so badly I could just talk to her again. I miss her so much 😢. Beautiful song ❤️

I missed a lot of years with my dad in my younger years. His last 4 years we spoke daily on the phone when I took my lunch break. He passed away a year ago today unexpectedly at 67 years old. He was my best friend. I thank God every day we had that time together. I can't wait to see him again.

Brings tears to my eyes as it's been 20 years since I lost my dad on this world and can hardly wait to see him once more. He was a great fisherman as his hobby and used to take me with him on his fishing trips and my younger brothers too! Mom passed 6 years ago and as my best friend, I can't wait to see her too!💝😄
@E.T. Thank you so much! When he passed away, I thought I couldn't bear it I was so heartbroken. Four months later one day I started crying at work and couldn't stop, so I had to go home and cried all day. It was close to the first Christmas without him so maybe I was especially sad at this holiday time. One time about 3 years before he died, he wrote a note on the door that said "Gone fishin'". So that was the theme of his funeral service.

Its only been a month or so since Pappas ben gone and I can only imagine how you must feel my Brother! I saved all his voice mails on my phone and I play them quite often just to hear his voice! When my grandmother died, my father was almost 70, and he said yeah but it's still your mama. He died 6 years later and understood what he meant so much more. I heard this song and Jesus in a Jon boat on the same day. I don't believe in coincidences.

My dad sent me this song. I teared up a bit. I probably won't tell him that though.
My dad died while in another country for a 3 week duty. It was a sudden death and unexpected since he was in perfect shape at 68. No one was able to say goodbye to him when he passed away alone. He is a believer and loves God though not perfect and had temptations . I hope God will let him in heaven. I dreamed that he is with the Lord and he said it took some time for him to make it through that” walkway”. Of course I need confirmation for this dream. I know in the Bible they say that its appointed for men once to die , after that the judgment. I hope he passed away peacefully and that the Lord will forgive him as one who
