  • Dr. Jordan Rogers continues preaching through The Book of Romans in this sermon on Romans 8:26-30 entitled, "What to Know When You Don't Understand."
Many times we find ourselves in situations where we just don’t understand what is going on. Sometimes, no matter how hard we try, we just can’t seem to figure out what or why things are happening the way they are. For the one who has placed their faith in Jesus, you have an unparalleled assurance: “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).
When you don’t understand, know that God works all things together for the good of His people. In your weakness, find strength in the truth that God is sovereign over all things and His Holy Spirit will help you through it all.
This is a sermon from Romans 8:26-30 and below you will find the video recording and a sermon outline to help you follow along as you watch. I hope this study tool helps you grow in your love for the Lord Jesus and in your obedience to Him.

Dr. Rogers, I am a SDA. I've heard many great ministers throughout the years. I've heard great sermons by both SDA ministers and non-SDA ministers. This sermon is one of the best I've ever heard. Since my wife passed on February 3rd 2022, I've searched for sermons that give comfort and strength in knowing that God was/is present in her life and in my life. This sermon is a blessing Dr. Rogers. There is another non-SDA minister, whose sermons have been a blessing, Adrian Rogers. The same last name as yours. Pastor Henry Wright's sermons have been a blessing, he is a SDA minister. But your sermon is right on time, and a true blessing, and may be the best, for my current needs. Thank you and God bless you 🙏🏼

I am very encouraged by your testimony, and can only imagine how difficult it has been for you to experience the passing of your wife. The promises of God and His faithfulness to fulfill them all is our great hope in this life and in eternity.
You have been highly encouraging to me and I am grateful that you took the time to reach out.
Regarding Pastor Adrian Rogers, I have listened to his preaching my entire life and have been blessed by the Lord’s work through him. In Christ, he and I are family, but we are not related by blood.

This is the first time I have heard a sermon by you. I have been listening to Charles Spurgeons sermons and he said most modern day ministers do not talk enough about the Holy Spirit and I decided to listen to you. Thank God and I thank you. People need to know all of the many wonderful things the Holy Spirit does. God bless you!

Let me share my spiritual experience concerning the scripture in Romans 8:26. After I got born again in my spirit when I received the Salvation in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, within few days the "groanings" manifested in me. I did groan heavily when I am so touched in my prayer especially when I prayed deeply. It became part of my normal prayer life whenever I was so moved while praying, like pouring out a deepest supplication and gratitude before the LORD. It always manifests when I am praying in the spirit, and sometimes when I worship in the spirit.
At its first manifestation I wondered why it happened, for I never heard of it before nor read of it in the Bible (at that time I had read only small portion of the Bible). But later on, I was amazed with exceeding gladness when I found it in the book of Romans. How I was so thankful to The LORD that He gives me such gift of praying in the spirit with groanings. For I know that the Spirit makes intercession for me with groanings when I know not what I should pray for as I ought. And that, I am sure that the Spirit is making intercession for me according to the will of God. This gives me a blessed assurance that The LORD hears my prayers. Thank You so much Father. Thank You.
Each time I prayed with groanings, the burden that was in me before is released, and I became refreshed after the prayer. And I know that our merciful and gracious God is doing something good to whomsoever or whatsoever it is due, though I know not what I had prayed for.
This kind of prayer was clearly demonstrated and had done a major part when the Lord Jesus raised up Lazarus from the dead. ( John 11:33-44 )
I hope this testimony will give more lights of truth, wisdom and understanding to these certain scriptures. ( Romans 8:26-27 )
To God be the glory! God bless and graces to all.
