I always have Christmas ornaments in a working capacity and I’ve done 38 fully finished ones at least 3/3 in less than a year! In Minnesota, we didn't get snow until the beginning of April this year. I have fond memories of my Mom making Quaker Oats for us before school in the winter.

I would love to stitch Quaker Huswife. Chessie and Me will be at Primitive Gatherings in June for a retreat. I love to use those magnet frames with fabric. The magnet frame doesn’t hold the fabric drum tight so ideal if you are an in hand stitcher. The best part is NO HOOP MARKS. The snow has melted again and the daffodils are blooming in Wisconsin.

I'm glad you are taking time to enjoy your friends. The stitching will be there. I love the little bowl stitches, such a fabulous idea. I am still waiting for my Just Cross Stitch magazine. I love the variety of your projects, I mostly just stitch Christmas. Oddly enough not snow though . I am doing the Fox and Rabbit 2024 mystery sal which I think is a quaker. I have great empathy for you when you work so hard. Your time off for the Summer is just around the corner, though! 😂 I've been working 60 hour weeks for 10 years now with 2 jobs. I'm 70 this year, and I'm deciding to slow down some. I will quit my Saturday job of 10 hrs this week. Now, I have time to really cross stitch more! I have really been enjoying the magnetic frames. I am using mine with some stiff aida I'm using, it gives me a better grip as my piece is too small for a q-snap. My husband has a set he uses for small plastic canvas stitching. He has hand tremors sometimes and having the frame makes it easier to hold when he cross stitches. You will love the frames!
Hello just found you video, love. We still have snow still on the mountain, so it would be wonderful to stitch on Christmas charts. Quarter has some beautiful charts. Have a wonderful to wrap up your teaching year.

If we had snow at Christmas we would all Quaker in our boots. 😂 The timber frames look very intriguing . Will be interesting to see what you think of them. Enjoyed your flip throughs this week. Sadly I was not able to finish the model stitch for the third Herschel & Lucy design this week. 😔 I decided to change a couple colors so things stood out better, which required some frogging and restitching. 😝 But I’m much happier with it now, and hopefully it’ll be out next week. 🤞🏻 Looking forward to your progress on Introductions! Don’t be too scared about the over one - there’s just a little bit! 😊

Hi Carolyn! Great video, I always enjoy seeing your progress on your long term projects -- you are so organized! Last year #mentalhealthmay was new to me and this year I'm actually going to choose something from my stash to stitch FOR ME! I don't know how much I'll get done, but it will be for me (most of my pieces are anyway, but it will be more intentional). I have a terrible spring cold so I've not gotten much stitching done myself lately, but I'm starting to see light at the end of the tunnel and hope to pick up my needle again soon. So, during March my stitching group, Nelly's Needlers, helps run the Woodlawn Needlework Show at Woodlawn Estate in Alexandria, VA. Woodlawn was originally part of George Washington's Mt. Vernon Estate but he gave it to his nephew who married his step granddaughter -- Nelly Custis. There were enslaved people on the estate but the next owners were members of the Quaker religion who divided the estate into separate farm plots that they sold or leased to the freed slaves. The Needlework Show takes submissions from all across the country, submissions begin just after Christmas and go through January and February, which are the months when we are most likely to get snow here in the DC area. :)

As for YOW 2024 it will require concentrated effort on my part as I have not yet finished one. 🤦🏽♀️ Have a great week as you head to the end of the term. I’ve got two weeks more of classes and then finals week. I’ll be done by May8th and will be ready for a break as I suspect you are. 🥂
