      He was born in North Africa and likely pretty "pale" himself.

      North Africans were nearly always predominantly middle eastern/Mediterranean then so before you b*tch about the person playing the role, ask yourself wtf you even actually really know about the person they're portraying. Then see if they have a lbhsical resemblance to the person like this guy definitely does based on statues abd painting. Then go and have several seats think about why you assumed someone was black just because they were nicknamed "the African" 2 thousand years ago. You probably insist Cleopatra VII Thea Philopator was black as well because Egypt is in Africa

      Because Netflix isn't real life. Hundreds of frescoes, coins, and statues show North African Amazigh berbers being pale to olive skin, with dark hair; not very different from Southern Europeans. Not everyone in a continent looks alike.
