  • The Heritage Foundation of Franklin and Williamson County is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the architectural, geographic and cultural heritage in Franklin and Williamson County, Tennessee.
    Watch the video to learn about our iniatiative to restore one of the county's historic properties, known as the "old, old jail" on Bridge Street. The Foundation has launched a campaign to restore it to its ca. 1941 Art Deco appearance and use it as office space for preservation work.

    Man I love what you guys are doing. We have nearly the identical situation in Graham, TX except we are in a fight to keep the "old old" jail from being torn down. It was built in 1921 and is in much better shape than yours. It was a jail until 1977 then a women's shelter until last year. I was the base of operations for the manhunt following the "1927 Santa Claus Bank Robbery" in Cisco, TX. I would love to hear more about your plans and how you are overcoming fund raising and code compliance issues. It looks like a wonderful plan and I wish you the best of luck.
