The game in the future won’t play the same and this may not be the only condition for permadeath that will be in it so I guess only time will tell if it’ll be a good feature or not everyone thought scav karma and pmcs working together was going to be a impossibility to balance but overall expectations usually don’t match up to outcomes when it comes to bsg (not always for the best)

Permadeath is fine so long as there is a strong measure of control for the gamer, outside of "I just won't play that area". Stims, pills, suits, masks (already in the game), butt plugs. All of these should be available to the players to mitigate radiation.
perma death sounds like a good idea, don't get me wrong, radiation exposure would be progressive, you can't just die straight up from radiation in one raid, you would have to expose yourself in multiple raids. side effects would occure as you take radiations, like really violent one, nobody would be dumb enough to keep going into irradiated places at this point. use AI-2 or something. To me it would be a great fix to protect high tier loot from hatchlings and pistol runners, you would need to buy expensive protection against radiations (hazmat suits) to access some of the high tier loot, meaning going with just a pistol isn't worth it, it would be better to go with decent gear.
Yeah i dont mind radiation, theyll add something to counter it and playerbase isn't dumb enough to not use said feature (or maybe they are). its just so you cant keep farming radiated areas without risk.

And if you can’t handle the possibility of perma death then you have picked the wrong game dude, this perma death possibility was probably planed from the start
I don't think perma death is a good idea, especially if there are still wipes. That sounds fairly unbalanced as long as there is no possibility to heal your radiation other than just resetting your account. Maybe implement some expensive heal items to get rid of radiation, or make it so if you have high rad damage you have some negative effects like lower stamina etc. But not perma death ... Also how about you fix the Elite Skills. Some no-lifers are running around like there is no inertia and how tf makes it any sense that the gear you wear is 0 kilos, in the asepct how "realistic" this game wants to be.

@@Noah-dj7zp i know about the ricochet hack, everyone has seen that video, and it is farfetched. obviously everything we're talking about is pure speculation, but ricochet trajectory calculator and somehow spawning radiation (and there's no way there isn't somekind of a safeguard in case of error) that is serverside is pretty farfetched. even if as a hypothetical there was a radiation inflicting cheat, it was said it was going to be stage-based not just immidiate death, lots of time to recover with money or with some kind of resources. i think you're just hating for the sake of it
I think if they start adding shortages, there should be a quest system or "favors" you can do for the trader to get some of those items, that way you're not just constantly hitting refresh and you get something else to do. They could range in difficulty to suffice what kind of stuff you need. This would also just be a nice system if you're having a hard time grinding roubles and can't find a key item for a certain quest. (this could also be bad because people who play the game more frequently could abuse these quests unless you limit them to once per day like the dailies already.) I like shortages because I spend a lot time and in game money to grind and I'm usually stocked up enough to make money or last through the shortage.
People worried about perma death but can’t wait for wipe. There would be constant people starting fresh, there are already meds and other items in game that help with radiation most are used Regularly already. The problem will only be if it is extremely difficult to get those items.
At first glance it seems terrible, but then it seems to make sense. Since there won't be any wipes, it's like a personal wipe. I'm sure it's easy enough to circumvent the situation from happening, but can be used as an evening out of the player base.

Some of this sounds very foolish. Punishing the inexperienced players is not a good idea... the shortages thing reminds me of the saying about the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. That kind of divide will make new players not want to play. Maybe there's some good here that I don't see.
Absolutely not. BSG has to figure out a sure fire way to get rid of hackers before implanting such a game changing event into the game. We’ve seen what hackers can do, they will find a way to radiate players and potentially cause a mass exodus of players
i just hope they will add something like... some clothes (like a biohazard suit or something) that nullifies the radiation or a stim that decreases the radiation that you has infected you

I just started the game, still under 50 hrs. The game is full with mechanics, items, patterns etc. to learn. If i cant cure radiation easily or face permadeath, i will stop playing the game. (Even if i think its a super-realistic, great game!) I dont play games that dont respect my invested time. A Wipe every now and then sounds fair, but forced permadeath account reset? Hell no The restrictions with negative Fence Rep is already too punishing... Kill the wrong guy and REP from 100 games is gone. LOL SCAV mode waiting time up to 2 hours is just insane, its like they dont want players with a happy triggerfinger playing like they want to, without the risk of loosing your items.

The game is probably gonna be different by the time permadeath rolls around, you might be able to start from a certain level of have multiple pmcs, quests are gonna probably work differently too so

In order to keep this game relevant things like permadeath short stock on items and more difficult questing is the main items needed to prolong its life. Everything BSG is doing is to keep the game active for a longer period.

Then you'll have every player that got fucked by any kind of radiation to just leave the game and uninstall. This is an absolute horrid way to keep player retention. Absolute garbage. This also makes no sense at all for new players starting - the game is challenging and has a huge skill ceiling as it is. You want players to play for 100 hours and be so invested but then they die from radiation and are permadead and have to restart? Yeah I don't think these players will stick around.
