Visiting PortAventura World At Navidad: Trip Report Low Crowds

We visited PortAventura World in December and were surprised by low crowds and official on site hotels.
This episode features a Trip Report into a quick 2 day break to PortAventura World’s two theme parks in Salou, Spain. Including ways to maximise your 48 hours with travel planning advice, how to get there, staying on-site at one of the official hotels, getting the most out of the available inclusive ticket and meal packages and overall how we found the experience, including the rare low queue times and walk-on roller coaster rides.
Is winter and December in particular a good time to visit the resort? Including tips for checking which attractions, restaurants and shows are operating. How to use the crowd calendar to try and get the lowest lines for roller coasters. Is the Navidad / Christmas event a good season to visit PortAventura World?

Good tips about avoiding the 6th and 8th December (I didn't know about those). To me, this is a much, much better time to visit than summer. I'd be happy to miss out on the water rides, but would want Shambhala, Dragon Khan and Stampida to be available.

It's a good winter park for coaster availability, other than the Ferrari Land only operating weekend evenings. You don't get the weather risk like the open parks in France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany etc.
They've also been opening in the winter for at least 20 years so they have the experience of operating all year round too.
It's a great value, paired with a trip to see the sights of Barcelona, could be a nice trip.

Any tips for visiting in mid-March?

PortAventura park is actually only open on weekends in Mid-March 2024. low crowds predicted, hours 10am-6pm
Ferrari Land is only open on Friday evenings 5pm-9:30pm
The season starts daily operation on 22nd March - which will be the easter break (mid to high crowds predicted)
