I Give This Movie a 10 Out of 10
I gave this a 100 out of 10.
I love how the movie incorporated the Italian accents by explaining them to be a marketing gimmick and not Mario & Luigi's real speaking voice.
It reminded me of how the voice Gilbert Gottfried used for his public persona was very different from his actual voice, which he spoke in his private life.
@@markcobuzzi826RIP, Gilbert Gottfried.
@@markcobuzzi826Or in Latin America's case, the iconic characters of Chabelo and Roberto Gómez Bolaños' El Chavo.
I feel bad for mario
0:53 put the biggest grin on my face when I saw this in cinemas. It was such a cute tribute.
It’s almost like Charles Martinet was giving his blessing to Chris in this movie
I think that's exactly what it was.
I met Charles Martinet
Yeah. He was basically giving Chris Pratt and Charlie Day his stamp of approval.
Exactly how I saw it! Charles essentially gave Chris his blessing in this scene alone.
Now that’s his finale wahoo with the voice of Mario as Giuseppe
0:10 I speak for everyone when I say we all owe Chris Pratt a HUGE apology. This man actually has a good Italian Mario voice. He just didn’t do it for the whole movie because Mario was originally voiced by Capt. Lou Albano, who had a Brooklyn accent.
And Charlie Day too. And he actually has Italian in his blood
@@SCR33NH3AD not gonna lie, his Italian Luigi voice is a little too squeaky and high pitched
@@FaysalIsGoated better than nothing
When or if they make a zelda movie yall gonna be sorry again about the voices so it doesn’t matter whether you say sorry or not
After a great deal of thought and a humble perspective, yeah- I officially take back all my criticism I had over Pratt’s casting for this masterpiece of a game-based movie.
NGL though, I’ll still take Mario’s default actor Mr. Charles Martinet anyday over Pratt only in comparison; don’t get me wrong when I say “Pratt’s outdone himself” but the TRUE OG sticks out the best for me for being the real Mario of my childhood.
A multiverse game with the movie, Paper, and the default Super Mario would be a really cool idea for a game though; almost like a lot of the Spider-Man-centered medium…
Mario is exactly how every protective and supportive brother should be.

I still remember when Mario was stereotyped as a selfish asshole who saw Luigi as a liability.
Never been happier to say those days are gone.
@@dannypalin9583god seriously that theory was so stupid lol
Oh yeah. We see how competitive Mario in the sports games can be with Luigi if he gets one upped by his little brother, but Mario loves Luigi so much he’d do anything he can to help him, just as Lu would do the same for Mario, as shown in Luigi’s Mansion.
@@dannypalin9583Right? I loved how in normal Mario rescue Luigi, but in Luigis Mansion 3 Mario was really grateful and happy for Luigi rescuing him. Gotta love that brotherhood moments
I still absolutely love how they made this such a callback to the old Super Mario Brothers Super Show TV show intro.
It was only right that they did. It’s a fitting tribute to the original actors of Mario and Luigi, Capt. Lou Albano and Danny Wells.
It would have been a plus if they added the second part of the theme song to start off the cartoon segment of the old cartoon show.
@@joshuaterry4076 it wouldn’t have fit the theme of what was going on at the time. It’s a homage to the original source without needing to overstay it’s welcome
@Piemur1 If there will be a sequel to the movie, then it would be appropriate to add the second theme song to start the cartoon part of the old cartoon show. So I hear what you are saying.
Not to mention, the women in the commercial is the woman who voiced as princess peach on the super mario bros super show
The critics can say what they will; to me, who grew up with Mario, and to my son who can’t get enough, this movie was AMAZING.
This movie is another piece of proof that we shouldn’t listen to the critics. The most important thing about a movie like this: *Is that it’s FUN!*
@@prestonendresmovies PREACH IT!

@@prestonendresmoviesThat’s the problem with critics today, they don't know what's good.

That is not a movie, that is cinema 😊😊😊
Adrienne VS Uncle James Washington
Rotten Tomatoes has been rotten for some time. I never trust them.
Everybody's talking about Chris Pratt's performance, but I myself would like to commend the writers for how well they characterized Mario here. People lambast Mario for lacking personality or being a sociopath, but here, all that's tossed out the window. Here, we see a gutsy everyman who loves his brother and yearns to be seen as more than just a short loser. That's outright perfect! It works.
And someone who is tenacious and driven, refusing to give up.
That's what my sister thought. She kept saying that the movie gave him so much more personality.
@@hiswayservicesblog9288 Oh yeah. Mario already had some simple basis to his character-- he's gutsy, loves his brother, and is tenacious and courageous. But the movie added so much more, like that he just wanted to feel like he was more, as well as how he refuses to give up, even as hard as it can be, and in spite of what others like Spike, his dad, Bowser, or Donkey Kong do or say to him.
Aww, they made the GameCube jingle their ringtone!! So cute!!
Fr
Luigi’s Mansion was one of the GameCube’s launch titles. So it’s fitting to have it as Luigi’s ringtone
It's the little details you cherish.
And the caller id icon is a Mii
Chris Pratt’s Mario impression in this scene is surprisingly spot on. I don’t think it could be said in the rest of the film.
It was just a gimmick for the commercial. It’s not meant to be heard for over an hour
@@joshuawillis602I know people wanted Charles Martinet to play him. But I honestly would not be able to take hearing the strong Italian accent for over an hour
@@JoeFanik
SOMEBODY ELSE FINALLY SAID IT.
I love Charles as much as the next guy, but an hour and thirty minutes of non stop Mario talking would be grating to hear.
@@misterbiscuit3706 I've been telling people that for the longest time. I think Chris did a great job overall, and the cameos with Charles were perfect, literally making him the father of them is poetic. I don't think having Charles dial back mario would have been great since I feel it wouldn't be the voice that he defined mario as. (Plus having his dad and I guess the other guy their uncle being kinda older looking mario and luigi is kinda fitting considering his retirement.)
Mario: say that again about my brother, you're gonna regret it.😤
Me: oh, graphic novel.
Spike: Oh yeah? Get this through your tiny brain, Mario! You’re joke! And you always will be!
Me: Yeah you tell him, Mario! 😠 (Cracks knuckles)

I can imagine paying for that commercial wasn’t cheap in the slightest. There’s editing, effects, that lady actor’s part, the rap artist for their theme, and especially a prime time slot to play the commercial when people really can see it. I’d say besides the green screen bleeding on them for their cape scene, it was really well done. I can easily see why they’re proud of it. Oh and of course that rich couple goes for the cheapest plumbing option.
They did spend their life savings on it.
The girl they used looked confused when she read the script 😆
There is reason they stay rich, it’s not just their jobs 😂

I love that he has character development where he goes from being a coward in danger to a brave character that helps Mario at the end.
@@sirorliktheironclad yeah, but it felt a little last minute, considering the fact that he was a minor character in this movie
@@springheartedtiger I don’t mind it because Luigi cares about his brother since he looks up him. Plus, Luigi says nothing can hurt him and Mario as long as they are together which means working together as a team.

Notice at 3:14, that's the 1-1 start. The 8 sign is the first coin block, the buckets and fan are also item blocks, the crates are the bricks, there's even green pipes. The whole thing doesn't match up, but hey, there's even a "flagpole" (complete with the sound), and a "castle" at the end. (A castle that looks EXACTLY like the classic castle too.)
AND THE MANHOLE SIGN IS THE MANHOLE GAME & WATCH GUY I CANNOT EVEN WITH THIS WHOLE SCENE, EVERYTHING ABOUT IT IS PERFECT

0:10-0:23 Chris Pratt deserves a massive apology from everyone who doubted him for voicing Mario. His impression of Charles Martinet is uncannily perfect! And not only that, but I like the Brooklyn accent he did for the rest of the film. While Charles Martinet may be the GOAT, Chris was still great in this movie and fans were way too harsh towards him.
Love the Brooklyn accent!
@@hiswayservicesblog9288I do too, Chris and Charlie's Brooklyn accents for Mario and Luigi give me vibes of Lou Albano and Danny Wells from The Super Mario Bros. Super Show and how they gave the brothers Brooklyn accents.

I’d call Mario and Luigi if I was having plumbing trouble.
Irony alert! Plumbers make a lot more money.
Personally I actually liked Chris Pratt’s Mario voice. It gives Mario a lot more depth as a character and the idea that he uses the classic accent for advertising his business instead of it being his actual voice is still in character for him because Mario as a freelancer has his name as a brand everywhere in Nintendo canon.
Which in hindsight is one of the most and probably few consistent things in Mario canon. He’s a plumber, a doctor, a professional athlete, a toy maker, etc. He is whatever the plot needs him to be.
I can definitely imagine Mario offering his services using the Martinet accent as advertising or working with customers and then switching back to Chris Pratt’s voice when he’s more relaxed or serious.
You know what? I like Chris's take on Mario.
I’m glad someone else agrees.
